Responsibilities:
• Project Management, Field Coordination and Quality Control within multiple scopes of work. Supervise and
guide field engineers to help analyze and resolve issues as they arise. Actively promote safety culture to
minimize and eliminate risk to employees. Actively work with the rest of the project team to coordinate
scheduling, submittals, and material orders with subcontractors to help maintain project deadlines.
Key Projects:
Harborcenter – Buffalo, NY
Assistant Project Manager for a mixed use $170 million hockey, entertainment, and hotel complex along the

waterfront in downtown Buffalo. Led successful completion of $200,000 full scale hotel mockup rooms within
adjacent First Niagara Center. Rooms had extremely tight schedule and were critical to get approval from
Marriott before releasing final 12 stories of project. Wrote and issued contracts to subcontractors for work
within the hotel. Worked in teams to supervise and guide Mortenson field engineers and subcontractors
throughout multiple stages of the project. Worked through numerous design changes and coordinated with in
place work to maintain project deadlines. Held preconstruction meetings with subcontractors to review safety
and quality standards to ensure their success on project and address any issues prior to starting work.
PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR – Maertens-Brenny Construction Company
Minneapolis, MN May 2008 – May 2014
Responsibilities:
• Bidding, Estimating, Project Management, and Quality Control for a self-performing commercial / industrial
general contractor. Coordinate scheduling, submittals, and material orders on multiple jobs with
subcontractors, suppliers, and our own labor force. Responsible for keeping projects on track, on time, and on
budget.
Key Projects:
Basin Electric Power Company Aircraft Hangar – Bismarck, ND
Project Manager for a ground up $5 million aircraft hangar at the Bismarck Airport. Project included 18,000 SF

hangar space with adjacent 8,000 SF of finished office space connecting to airside operations. Project also
involved 30,000 SF of exterior concrete site paving and coordination with the monitoring and relocation of
airside fencing and airport operations. Responsible for coordinating subcontractors and own labor from
submittals through job completion.
Minnesota Power, Bison O&M Building Remodel – New Salem, ND
Project Manager and Estimator for $315,000 Operations and Maintenance Facility for the Bison Wind Farm.

Project included new poured concrete decks on light gauge steel converting existing garage and shop space into
office areas. Building was in use throughout project.
ND State Historical Society – Historic Fort Totten Hospital Restoration – Fort Totten, ND
Project Manager and Estimator for $400,000 restoration of a historic hospital and cafeteria inside historic Fort

Totten museum space. Project involved extensive foundation repair on building including stone foundation
repairs, leveling and sistering of joists at existing floors, and salvage of majority of building materials for reuse
on job.
Minot Public Schools – Lewis & Clark Elementary School – Minot, ND
Project Manager and Estimator for a $500,000 carpentry package of an elementary school remodel and addition.

Project involved new casework, doors, blocking and misc accessories in school addition and remodel project.
Careful review of shop drawings and coordination required so as to not affect school opening dates.
CONSTRUCTION TESTING TECHNICIAN - INTERNSHIP – Braun Intertec Corporation

• Construction testing technician responsible for quality control testing on soil, concrete, and asphalt on multiple
