For the past year I have been working in the Tilly’s distribution center in Irvine, my needs to

move up in the company are overshadowed by the temporary employees. I am a 24 year old

man; I need something more challenging for my age. Although, at Tilly’s I was the receiving

clerk the pay was the same for twice the amount of work.

I am proficient in Microsoft office, especially Excel; I can work all hours night and day,

overtime has never been a problem. I had lived in Denton, Texas from age 20 through 23 where I

worked in the receiving warehouse of Home Depot. I am knowledgeable of invoice treatment of

payouts to vendors. I have also worked for CVS Pharmacy where I worked through holidays but

I was paid daily for my hours.

The two jobs I had before Tilly’s which were Craigslist gambles; one was at a doggy

daycare/boarding facility, in which was family owned and the hours varied but so did my

paychecks. The second was also family owned; Raw Dog, a fresh refrigerated dog food made in

house. Again my hours were not regular and again there was not a pay day that was regular. I

also received less pay than I worked because the time clocks were faulty.

Both jobs were a bust for me, although each I stayed with them almost a year. Tilly’s has

been the longest job at over a year since my return to home; I have a more mature look on life

and am considering the challenges of an adult. Although some jobs are at entry level, I am

looking for a company or business with opportunities to grow and learn the business. I have

always been on time, I am not one to call in sick even though I might be; I work hard, smart and

diligently to make sure the job gets done. I can keep up the pace, and I am not easily distracted.
