OBJECTIVE
I am actively seeking an entry level full time position in the field of Industrial Engineering. My interests lie in
Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Inventory Control and Material
Handling Systems.
EDUCATION
M.S. Industrial Engineering B.E. in Production Engineering
University of Texas Arlington, TX Mumbai University, India
GPA -3.33 (Graduation – December 2014) CGPA – 3.87 (Graduation–June 2012)
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Aramark, The University Of Texas, Arlington TX
Jan. ’13 – Present
Student Worker
Performed duties of a cashier and a food server at the cafeteria.
Involved in managing inventory for raw materials, process improvement and materials management
Worked in a cross functional environment with various departments for the cafeteria and restaurants on
campus at school coordinating and collaborating.
Metal Trim India Pvt.Ltd, Mumbai, India
Aug. ’12 – Oct. ’12
Intern Trainee Engineer
Worked on CNC machines performing operations such as Turning, Drilling, and Boring etc.
Underwent training on labor rules and worker utilization for the manufacturing facility.
Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co.Ltd Mumbai, India
July. ’11 – Jan. ‘12
Project Intern/Trainee
Designed a new process layout for the Data Safe’s manufactured by the company.
Performed Time Study for the Cement Mixing machine on the shop floor which was done semi-automatically
using a mixer machine and labor.
Proposed a new automated SILO system to mix and store cement which would improve the productivity of the
whole assembly process. Submitted my proposal to the upper management after which they applauded me for the
work.
Prepared a new process flow map for the SILO system which was implemented later on after some
modifications.
Increased the capacity of the storage area to store assembled products by modifying the current stora ge area and
creating a new storage layout. This resulted in the capacity being increased thrice the amount it could hold
earlier.
Got hands on experience on resource management and worker utilization.
Successfully completed a project in the Final Fitting area of my department by suggesting a 2-Bin Material
Handling System as a part of an inventory control initiative taken by myself.
Trained for TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Kaizen. Gave useful suggestions and applied both the
techniques effectively to the manufacturing setup.
PROJECTS
Designed a new Layout for a Data Safe Assembly
Prepared a process flowchart for the product.
Time Analysis of the Cement- Mixing Machine which made fire resistant cement
Conducted direct time study for the cement mixing machine along with the density and volume measurements.
Calculated the time it took for the laborers to do the process. Calculated the lead time and came up with the data.
The new SILO system which replaced the current system which was in place before the time study was done had
a volume capacity six times that of the current machine.
Inventory Management and Materials Management
Designed new storage racks for Cradle Strips and Intermediate Slides used in the drawers.
Initiated a 2-Bin Material Handling System in the Final Fitting area of my department.
Calculated the weekly inventory needed according to the production orders, weight and volume of the parts.
This material handling system improved the productivity by 10%.
Development of a Linear Regression Model for Predicting and Explaining Handgrip Strength from
Anthropometric and Demographic Variables in People
Using 8 variables developed a linear regression model with a 5% level of significance.
Validated the Linear regression model using a validation data set to determine how good it was for prediction and
explaining predictor relationships.
Product Integration Line
Used Microsoft Office Project to plan the entire project schedule, risk, resource and finance from scratch.
Analyzed schedule and cost variances to track the project and take the required corrective measures.
Predicted potential conflicts and problems that could occur during a project.
Resolved and mitigated problems working as a team for the project.
Plan and develop a simulation model for creating a new 1.0 megawatt/month photovoltaic panel
production facility in Iceland
Created a simulation model in Witness ’13 (Mfg. version) of a sample production facility in Iceland.
Understood concepts such as bottlenecks, capacity planning and cost estimation through the project.
Verified the model and ran the simulation for 12 months to reach a suitable production output.
The Supply Chain Simulation Game and the Beer Game
Ran a supply chain simulation game to meet customer demand through a multi-stage supply chain with minimal
expenditure on back orders and inventory.
Applied supply chain concepts such as the Bullwhip Effect, Back Orders, Capacity Planning and Re-order point.
Implemented demand planning methods such as forecasting through the simulation.
Direct Time study in McDonald’s
Conducted time study to observe the waiting time for customers by calculating the cycle time for the process.
Applied both Snapback method and Continuous methods depending on the duration for the work elements.
Performance rating calculations were done taking into consideration the PFD allowances which also helped in
understanding concepts such as the Hawthorne effect.
