Our client for this event was the supreme commit tee of
legacy and delivery in Doha, Qatar who won the 2022 bid
for the FIFA world cup in 2010. The purpose of the event
was primarily to test the AC units they want to
i ncorporate into their stadiums for the world cup. We set
u p a ‘Fan Zone’ where members of the public and various
V IP’s could come and watch the matches from the Brazil
2014 world cup on a big screen with a stadium like
a tmosphere. We also hosted many of the world’s media.
D uties: Working closely with suppliers and each venue
m anager to ensure quality food delivered on time and in
perfect condition to each of our venues, Managing a
catering team of 10, coordinated catering requirements
for 315 crew and staff members. We ensured each area
was setup on time, all food accounted for, queue
m anagement in place and each venue we catered for had
everything they required. This role required me to have
effective commu nication skills as well as people managing
skills.
