§ Investigated daily and long-term temporal variations of CO2, CO and CH4 concentrations in the ambient air:
o Collected air samples from various locations in the Los Angeles area and made measurements
of their mixing ratios;
o Performed statistical and geospatial analysis of these measurements using MATLAB.
§ Conducted air dispersion modeling using the Gaussian Atmospheric Dispersion Model.

§ Assisted in developing a self-contained, PV-powered domestic toilet and wastewater treatment system to
help developing countries overcome waterborne diseases and increase their access to sanitation facilities:
o Investigated the efficiency of electrochemical disinfection by the generation of reactive chlorine
species in domestic wastewater for the pilot and bench-top reaction systems;
o Tested the residual disinfection effect for preventing pathogen regrowth.

§ Synthesized a novel high efficiency nano-catalyst Bi2WO6 with the hydrothermal method and
characterized it with XRD, UV-vis DRS, SEM and TEM methods;

(Bisphenol A, Nonylphenol);
§ Proposed and led the project; organized team members; coordinated work.
