Project Overview: Sharepoint Portal application is the Homepage for

internal GSK users. Community Sites have been created for the respective

business units and team sites have been created for the respective teams.

MySites have been created to store the profile information. Application was

hosted in O365 and Migration from Sharepoint 2007 to Sharepoint 2010 been a

casestudy for Microsoft as about 55000 Mysites been migrated to Sharepoint

2010.

Responsibilities:

. Worked as Incident Management Lead and have provided 3rd Line support for

the Sharepoint application used by 100,000+ users in GSK hosted in the

cloud - Microsoft Office 365. We handled about 1 Portal, 400 Community

Sites, 14000 Team sites and about 55000 MySites.

. Coordinate with Microsoft (L4 Support) and handles the issue end-to-end

towards issue resolution.

. Worked with Microsoft TAM and Premier field engineer for the issues

escalated from the MS L1 helpdesk.

. Worked as Site Collection Administrator for all the Community and team

sites hosted in O365 and helps the users with the OOB features and

minimal coding if required.

. Created a KB articles as part of Continuous Service Improvements.

Automation:

. Have automated the Migration of data from the file share to the

Sharepoint Document libraries using batch script.

. Developed a Excel based Macro to pull out the pages from the Pages

Library of a particular view and show it up in the Excel spread sheet.

Macro was created based on the requirement received from client end for

Audit purpose.

. Developed an Excel based Macro to fetch user details based on

domain/userid. User details like FName, LName, Business Phone Number,

mail id etc been fetched. Have used the sedservice and SOAP protocol to

fetch the details in the excel spread sheet using Macro.

. Used Batch Script in order to copy the data from a SharePoint library to

the local drive - Data Backup requirement

. Automated a deletion of about 8000+ MySites. Have developed a VB script

for the same. Script was designed in such a way that it runs on UI and

deletes the MySites which eliminates the risk of deployment of script at

the Server level which was considered to be an Overhead during the time

of migration from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010. Deletion of 8000+

MySites helped the client to go for smooth migration.

decommissioning including data archiving.

. Explored, extensively tested and customized a third party tool to suit

the client's Lotus Notes database archiving requirements during the PoC

stage. Since, PoC was very successful, we won the bid for about 35 Lotus

Notes databases for Archiving and the requirement is to convert lotus

notes documents from 35 databases into PDF/A - a long-term retention

format recommended for archiving.

Automation:

. Automated the basic command line functions i.e. Copy, Move, Rename etc

for huge file count (Say 100,000 files) using batch Script which helped

the Client to reduce the man-effort and eliminating the manual

intervention.

. Automated the notes documents extraction process using a custom lotus

notes script thereby minimizing the manual efforts and also passed on

substantial monetary benefits to the customers.
