P rojects:

Implementing Six Sigma techniques at M ikey’s Way organization: Six Sigma Quality

(Aug’13-Dec’13)

• Implemented DMA IC methodology approach of six-sigma to define the issues in existing procedure to

optimize the order quantity, quality and service level and implemented Lean methodologies for the

reduction of wastes.

• Acquired & analyzed the data using statistical software M initab & delivered optimal solutions to

i mprove business processes.

• Measured the process using process chart, root cause analysis, Implemented KPIV-KPOV format for

data representation, improved the process & controlled using process FMEA, WHY- WHY analysis &

cause-effect.

• Mapped the current value stream map and future stream map for assuring continuous process

i mprovement.

• Extensively used M ini tab software and after implementing DM IAC, i t resulted in 20% increase in

service levels of organization.

• Improved the response of the organization in limi ted resources from current 22 days to 27 days in a

year

• Incorporated 5S and Kaizen to reduce the setup t ime to organize M ikey’s Way Day

• Performed a customer satisfaction analysis and created a feedback mechanism for the organization.

• Examined the process to determine the non-value added activities and reduced them by almost 30%

A nalysis of safety stock levels at Forbes Ma rshall: Production, Planning & Inv. Control

(Aug’13-Dec’13)

• Out of 1477 i tems used to make boiler 192 i tems were more than required safety stock and 524 i tems

were lesser than the required safety stock

• Rectified the existing safety stock levels by using (Q-R) continuous review model

• Implemented KANBAN system for the bulk i tems

• Reduced the Holding costs and shortage costs which resulted in total saving of $11,300

Statistical Quality Analysis to develop 9V Battery: Quality Assurance

(Jan’14-May’13)

• Achieved the main objective of developing a 9V battery using limited resources & varying main

parameters

• Reduced the variability in the multimeter by conducting Gauge R & R, linearity studies.

• 9V battery achieved by selecting the correct parameters using DOE and CCD

• Ensured the stability & consistency of the battery by determining the process capability & analyzing

control charts

Design & Analysis of Experiments

(Aug’13-Dec’13)

M ini Project 1:

• Achieved the primary goal to formulate a mix that produces a moister cake than the current “super-

moist” version

• Used M initab software and performed A NOVA and D unnett’s test, analyzed the data and residual

p lots

• Recommended the correct cup cake mix that can be int roduced in market against the competitor

M ini Project 2:

• A new lab process was having problems in producing batches of pure material. To be acceptable, there

had to be less than 50 mg of by-product in each batch of 100 gm.

• Used Minitab Software tools like t reatment design of fraction factorial, Alternate factorial and full

fold over design and analyzed the data and residual plots.

• Optimized the parameter settings in order to make the solution acceptable.
