Master’s thesis

Multi-Dimensional Polarimetric Pattern Recognition & Characterization Techniques For Immunohistochemical I maging

Of Cancer

o Developed novel image processing techniques, automated pattern recognition and machine vision algorithms and

neural networks, with applications in the automated detection and characterization of material defects,

immunohistochemical slides, and medical diagnostics.

Calibrated, tested, and operated, an in-house designed, optical imaging platform for medical diagnostics, and

characterization of solar panels. The imaging platform has been developed as part of a contract with Government; it is a

fully automated, scalable, and reconfigurable electro -optical imaging platform, with full multispectral polarimetric

capabilities, implemented with a suite of se nsors, state-of-the art control.

Developed standards related to the design of Bio-inspired Vision Sensors.

Master’s curriculum

Designed an automated, GPS enhanced, wearable patient monitoring device which includes a blood pressure and heart

rate monitor as well as a pulse oximeter. Performed device testing procedures accompanied by individual component

testing and design verification studies.

Designed and developed an automated ‘fall detector’ system using 3 -axis accelerometers and gyroscopes. The product

was tested and design verification studies included prototyping and demonstration.
