WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT:
Sewer Evaluation (I/I, SSES)
City of Newport News, Flow Monitoring, Newport News, VA, Field
Technician – Installed, monitored, and maintained 26 flow meters in
18 service basins associated with the City of Newport News’ SSO
Program. Performed installation of two different types of flow meters
( Sigma 910 and Flo-Dar brands) and set up for data collection with
two different types of data logging software; Insight( SIGMA meter
management) and Flo-Ware (Flo-Dar meter management).
Visited meter sites daily to upload data and verify status of meters
and perform maintenance if necessary. Performed field-analysis of
data. Exported raw data to usable files and transmitted to Project
Engineer.
Albemarle County Service Authority, Meadow Creek Sanitary
Sewer Evaluation Phase I, Charlottesville, VA, Field Technician
– Performed 1289 sanitary manhole inspections, which included
locating manholes, physically inspecting and reporting potential
structural defects and inflow/infiltration issues, and operating
equipment to record photos and videos of manhole inspection.
Manhole inspections were performed in MACP format. Performed
installation, maintenance and data collection of 10 portable flow
meters; installation of 4100 series rain gauges. Meters were of the
ISCO 2100 series type. Smoke testing was performed on 70,000 lf of
sewers and night flow isolation was measured in 67 separate
locations. CCTV tapes were reviewed under PACP standards.
Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Trunk Sewer
Evaluation and Survey Inspection, Various Locations, MD, Field
Technician – Provided GPS location, mapping and inspection for
trunk sewers (> 15” diameter) within the WSSC collection system
for a $1M annual contract. The project included the GPS location
and manhole inspection of trunk sewers. Manhole inspections were
performed in accordance with MACP standards, and digitally
recorded. Inspection results were cataloged in an MS Access
database for Import into the WSSC GIS system.
City of Ashland, Inflow and Infiltration Study, Hanover County
Department of Public Utilities, Ashland, VA, Field Technician –
Visited selected pump stations during the off peak hours of 1:00 AM
and 5:00 AM to measure the influent flow rates as well as obtain
flow measurements with v-notch weirs at select locations in the
collection system.
Town of Louisa, VA, Field Technician – Performed fire flow
testing of 10 fire hydrants to determine the static and residual
pressure of fire hydrants within the town limits.
Town Of Carmel, Lake Secor Sanitary Sewer Evaluation,
Carmel, NY, Field Technician – Smoke tested 25,000 lf of sewers
to locate defects and illegal sump connections.
Potesta and Assoc.,Huntington Sanitary Board, Huntington, WV,
Field Technician- Performed installation and set up for 3 Sigma flow
meters and 2 Flow-Dar flow meters.
James City Service Authority (JCSA), Williamsburg, Va., Field
Technician- Provided GPS location, mapping and inspections for 273
manholes, which included locating manholes, physically inspecting
and reporting potential structural defects and inflow/infiltration issues,
and operating equipment to record photos and videos of manhole
