PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Tri State Hand, Foot & Ankle Therapy., Cumberland, MD.
I have owned and operated a private practice Occupational Therapy
Clinic. Clinic is 3200 sq.feet in Cumberland, MD since 1999. We
specialize in therapy and rehabilitation of hand, arm, shoulder, and
neck problems, as well as the foot and ankle. I also do custom foot
orthotics and foot/ankle bracing. I achieved Hand Therapy
certification November 1, 1997. I do full foot, ankle, and lower
extremity rehabilitation. We provide pain relief modalities, hands-on
stretching and joint mobilization, and custom bracing for hand, arm,
shoulder, neck, and back injuries. We perform Pressure Specified
Sensory testing for compressive neuropathies, diabetic peripheral
neuropathy of the hands and feet to detect even mild to moderate nerve
degeneration.

Rehab Solutions: Cumberland, MD. Worked as director of
Occupational Therapy.
Also treated a good variety of hand problems, including tendon
repair and transfer,
orthopedic problems, tendinitis, mutilating injuries, and
arthritis. Hand evaluation
and treatment with Lido workset. Also functioned as Industrial
Rehab Director and
FCE provider primarily for upper extremity rehabilitation.

Clarion Rehabilitation Services, Clarion, PA. Worked as Industrial
Rehabilitation Coordinator and Hand Therapist. Coordinated services in
99-bed rural hospital and outpatient center. Fine tuned industrial
rehabilitation program. Developed hand therapy service for orthopedic
practice. Developed marketing for these services. Also developed

Northwestern Physical Therapy Services, Inc. Titusville, PA. Worked as
Director of Occupational Therapy. Supervised operations in a number of
settings, including: two outpatient work hardening centers and hand
therapy service, 80-bed acute care rural hospital and skilled nursing
facility. Began industrial rehabilitation. Full procedure manual
written based on CARF guidelines. Performed functional capacity
evaluations, ergonomic analysis, job site analysis, pre-employment
screening, back school and injury prevention program for area
industries and work hardening services. Used The National Institute of
Safety and Health Standards Manual for Material Handling Guidelines for
work site services. Well-versed in ergonomics and principals of levers
and kinesiology. Developed hand therapy service in outpatient setting
including: orthopedics, splinting-dynamic & static, hand mobilization,
edema control. Experience in acute hand rehab and splinting as well.
Supervised two COTA's and one OTR/L, in out-patient centers and one
skilled nursing facility. Started student program. April 1989 to
October 1993.
Keystone Rehabilitation Systems, Dubois, PA. Worked as Director
of
Occupational Therapy in an outpatient clinic and performed
treatment with a
variety of physically disabled persons and also supervised COTA's
in four nursing
homes. Accomplishments included: Started Industrial
Rehabilitation Program in
an outpatient clinic; evaluated and treated patients, performed
on-site analysis of
employee tasks; wrote proposal for injury prevention and
education for several
local industries; maintained budget, supplies, documentation,
etc., for work
hardening program and nursing home OT contracts; developed and
implemented marketing strategies for occupational therapy in the
community.

Pheasant Ridge Center, Kalamazoo, MI. Worked with emotionally
disturbed
children ages 5 to 12. A variety of assessments were used
including: Mosaic
Tile Evaluation, Frostig Development Test, Goodenough-Harris
Drawing Test,
Bruninks-Oseretsky Test and the Bragance Diagnostic Inventory.
Treatment
concentrated on the development and behavorial techniques.
Occasional use of
projective techniques in art therapy was also necessary.

population of various
physical disabilities, including: hemiplegia, amputation,
peripheral neuropathy,
head trauma, spinal cord injury, hand injuries and work-related

94. A variety of assessments were used, including: PROM, Brunnstrom,
Hemiplegic Evaluation, ADL's, Sensory Test, Motor Free Visual
Perception Test,
Jebson-Taylor Test, O.T. Interview, and others. Treatment theory was
eclectic and
included: Rood, Sensory, Integration, Bobath, Brumnstrom, PNF, with an
emphasis

Reimbursement Committee. Reside in greater Cumberland area with my
wife, Debbie, a former RN. My three children, Allison, Kimberly and
Alexander, are all grown and living on their own. I enjoy fishing,
walking, hiking, canoeing, and attending concerts. Music is a passion,
as is gardening.
