To whom this may concern:
I am applying for any open engineering positions within your company. My experiences, academic
background, and career ambitions enable me to be a positive addition to any job openings.
Chemical engineering requires skills in organization, professionalism, and discipline. My attention to
detail, proper planning, and focus on improvement have proven to be valuable assets while attending
the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. As I have completed college and am currently pursuing full-time
employment, I have learned to utilize such skills and quickly adapt to perform in a manner that is to be
expected plus more. Having prior experiences such as working in the food service industries and
volunteer organizations have given me the opportunities to provide excellent customer service in a time
efficient manner as well as the ability to make ethical decisions. As an employee of McAllister’s Deli, I
was able to take on multiple positions to compensate for the lack of employee’s. During this time I was
able to quickly learn and work in various positions. As a manager of Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream, I was able
to make thoughtful decisions in delegating work, perform all management duties, and keep a positive
interaction between fellow employees. To retain this rapport, I exerted a sense of family amongst our
employees and found that appropriate coaching and in-the-moment, constructive feedback was
essential for a positive work environment. The attached resume will provide more detail about my
experiences.
It is evident that engineering is a very broad practice; however, nonetheless, it requires diligence,
accurate decision-making and appropriate adaptation skills. I am anxious to be a part of a company that
promotes cohesive group work while making a difference in society. I am confident and determined to
make positive changes; changes not necessarily big or huge, but small and necessary for the success of
the company. I am always ready to learn, whether it involves additional subject knowledge, new
problem-solving strategies, or innovative ways to facilitate new technology within my engineering
practices. Becoming a chemical engineer has become a dream of mine, and I hope to have a major
impact in my work to generate successful societal transformations as my predecessors have done in the
past.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with you for the possibility of being a part of the
engineering team at your company. Please feel free to contact me from the information listed above.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Chris Bartlett
