. Epstein Construction, Tucson, AZ April 2013 to May 2014. Epstein
Construction is an established commercial contractor that has been in
business since 1987. Projects range from multi-million dollar ground
up buildings to retail tenant improvements. Responsibilities include
marketing/business development, estimating and project management.
. Cermrock Naturalistic Environments, Tucson, AZ November 2010 to March
2013. Director of Business Development. Cemrock is one of the top
companies in the US providing artificial environments for zoos,
aquariums, theme parks, etc. Responsible for new business development
and the day to day operations of the Marketing Department.
. Ripley Entertainment, Inc., Orlando, FL - April 2009 to October 2010.
VP of the Design, Development, and Construction Departments. Ripley
is an international and domestic chain of museum-type attractions,
including aquariums and a resort hotel with indoor water park.
Responsible for three departments including management of employees
(project managers, designers, and artists), vendors, and outside
contractors (architects, engineers, etc.). Responsible for
construction of all new facilities, including the enhancement of
existing locations.
. CDO, Orlando, FL - March 2005 to January 2009. VP and Director of
Construction of Orlando office for this Chicago firm. Responsible for
start-up and growth of the Orlando office. CDO is a development
outsourcing company that represents national corporate clients and
develops stores, restaurants, and facilities from concept to opening.
. Darden Restaurant, Orlando, FL - June 2001 to March 2005. Director of
Design/Construction, Red Lobster. Responsible for all functions of
the Development Department. Over a one-year period, expanded the
Department from 7 employees completing $10,000,000 worth of
construction annually, to 16 employees overseeing over $50,000,000.
Specific responsibilities included manage all department employees,
selected/managed architects and general contractors, oversaw
"template" designs, monitored quality of construction, approved all
contracts and pay applications, established and monitored department
and project budgets.
. T. L. Roof Associates (O'Neil Industries of Chicago), Tucson, AZ -
February 1998 to June 2001. Project Manager. One of the top general
contractors in Tucson, specialized in design/build projects. Projects
ranged in size from $100,000 to $15,000,000. Responsibilities as
design/build Project Manager included leading the design team from
concept through construction document phases. Established budgets,
prepared/processed contracts, created schedules, coordinated and
worked directly with project owner, led team to resolve issues,
coordinated with subcontractors, tracked all construction costs.
. The Larson Company, Tucson, AZ - January 1992 to January 1998. Senior
Project Manager. Larson was a design/build contractor creating themed
environments for zoos, aquariums, theme parks, casinos, etc. and
specialized in artificial rock work and trees, fabrication of themed
icons, and other custom projects. Responsibilities included
management of projects from initial sales contact through contract
administration, client coordination, management of design and
subcontractors, negotiated labor contracts with union business agents,
oversaw fabrication/construction from beginning to signing of
substantial completion. Management of projects ranged in size from
$50,000 to $5,000,000, including up to 12 projects at one time.
. Perk Development, Rochester, NY - July 1990 to January 1992.
Designer. This firm was the 19th largest restaurant owner/operator in
the nation.
