OBJECTIVE:
Seeking a challenging position as a Chemical Engineering Intern and entry
level staff where academic experiences and skills will contribute to the
advancement of the organization
EDUCATION:
Bachelors in Chemical Engineering May 17, 2014
Illinois Institute of Technology
Pre-Engineering Program Fall 2008-Spring 2011
Chicago State University
RELEVANT COURSES:
Process Control, Process Design, Thermodynamics I and II, Transport
Phenomena
Heat and Mass Transfer Operations, Calculus, Fluid Mechanics, Organic
Chemistry,
Unit Operations Laboratory I&II
EXPERIENCE:
Illinois Institute of Technology
Chicago, IL
Department of Chemical Engineering August 2012-Present
Inter-Professional Project: Intermodal Container Facility Innovations for
the Chicago Area-Focus on Container Based Distribution Facilities.
. Explore solutions that can work within the current patchwork of
transportation systems and industrial development
. Using wine, made a mass transfer analysis on how to use porosity and
solubility to get more oxygen in the wine
Inter-Professional Project: Sky's the Limit: Retracing the Technological
Evolution of Aviation and its impact on Architecture.
. Designed a platform that can fly above the tallest towers in the world
rethinking the basic principle of the city skyline, the skyscraper.
Undergraduate Research:
. Explored surface modification and stabilization methods for spherical
and anisomeric (e.g.; nanorods) nanoparticles
. Developed applications in analytical chemistry and biomedicine with
proper understanding of the surface modification process of anisomeric
nanoparticles a large number on metallic nanoprobes
. Explored a batch reactor that has algae stored in it. Watched it grow
daily, sometimes died. Made sample tests to watch the growth and come
up with analysis of what the growth indicates.
Process Design Group Research Project on Natural Gas Dehydration and
Sweetening:
. Designed the sweetening and dehydration portions of a plant which will
purify natural gas at lowest cost, so that product is within
specifications for gas distribution through pipelines.
. Designed a dehydration unit which will eliminate H2O so that product
has only 100 PPMV H2O concentration in as efficient and low cost way
possible
. Designed a sweetening unit which will eliminate H2S and CO2 so that
product has only 0.5 PPMV H2S and 1% volume CO2 concentration in as
efficient and low cost way possible
. Optimized this process to gain the best possible price for our product
without compromising design and operating costs
. Designed cleaning processes so that all byproducts are either sellable
or within specified laws and guidelines set for disposal
. Designed the process to minimize risk and increase safety for
employees and the local community
.
