Dear Department Manager:

I am interested in a position within your facility as a Registered Nurse.

I graduated from nursing school in May 2013, and have been employed at an acute psychiatric

hospital since then. I have prior hands-on medical experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant. I

have extensive medical computer skills, and experience communicating with medical doctors. I

have experience with patient age groups from early childhood through geriatric.

I am currently employed as charge nurse at North Valley Behavioral Health, an acute psychiatric

care facility. I care for patients who suffer from psychosis, schizophrenia, depression, suicidal

attempts, substance abuse, and many other disorders. This hospital is a short term, stabilization

facility for persons placed on a 5150 legal hold as danger to themselves, dangers to others, or

gravely disabled. All duties performed include constant close monitoring of patients safety,

activity, and the effectiveness of medications.

I was previously employed as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Licensing at the

Medical Board of California. I reviewed doctor’s applications for licensure, managed applicant

files, and communicated directly with the applicant doctors. I operated all State of CA computer

programs and databases at the Board. I took calls from hundreds of consumers with medical

questions and concerns working in the Call Center, and routed calls to the appropriate

department. I am a highly motivated and energetic nursing professional.

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the contributions I might add to your healthcare

facility. Should you have questions concerning my experience or abilities, please do not hesitate

to contact me at your convenience. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Heidi Hall, RN
