Statement of Duties:

• Receives transferred patients from other institution on stable conditions and ensure that

patients are properly transferred to bed comfortably with proper endorsement

• Completes a head to toe physical assessment

• Assess needs and problems of patient

• Performs delivery of nursing care. Assists physicians in care of the patients. Makes rounds,

assists with procedures, provides progress reports on patient status, and assures that orders

are carried out Administer medications, calculate doses and maintain current knowledge of

medications

• Documents medications and nursing care in a timely and accurate manner

• Follows procedures to assure that supply and medication stocks are rotated and replaced as

used

• Follow the standard for infection control; hand washing, protective eyewear, mask, gown,

gloves, head cover, and shoe cover, as appropriate. Proper disposal of contaminated items

and the use of isolation

• Maintains a knowledge of the patient's status during hospitalization and work with health

care team to adjust and improve approach to recovery

• Visit patient regularly to evaluate nursing care needed

• Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, non invasive blood pressure, and oximetry

when needed

• Initiate and coordinate a Code Blue

• Visit patient regularly to evaluate nursing care needed

• Accompanies and assists doctors during rounds and note patients are requirements

• Supervises the Nursing attendants and Midwife and Institutional Worker

• Performs comprehensive assessment of client’s health care need

• Transfuse blood and blood components with doctor’s order

• Monitor patient’s Intake and Output

• Provides health education and instruction to individuals, families and others for the

promotion and maintenance of health in an accurate manner

• Prepare patient and the ward for the endorsement
