Experience Chronology :
a) Brahmaputra Infrastructure Ltd : April 2008 onwards : Vice President
The group is engaged into all segments of construction including real
estate, airport, roads, highways, fly overs, Rail over bridges,
tunneling, building construction and mining. Recently it has
diversified into hospitality sector and media also. I joined
the group as GM - Purchase and climbed the ladder of success to current
role to act as Group Head for all commercial activities. Broadly, I am
responsible for following activities :
1) Capex Procurement : All plant & equipments like Bull Dozers,
Tippers, Motor Graders, Excavators, Transit Mixers, Batching
Plants, Loaders, Back Hoe, Crushers, Pavers, Dredgers, Boom Placer,
Concrete Pumps, Survey Equipments, Soil Compactors, Cranes and many
more.
2) Construction material : TMT Bars / Fabricated Steel, Wood, Cement,
Sand, Aggregates, Tiles, Marble, Electricals, Plumbing and
Sanitary, Glass, Aluminium, Hardware and shuttering material etc.
3) General Consumables : Spares for upkeep of machinery, lubricants
and tyres.
4) Hiring of Equipments : All types of equipments for different
purposes
5) Commercial Contracts for Logistics / Transportation, Service
contracts, sub contracts for Earth work, Piling and other labour
jobs.
Significant Achievements :
1) Developed an organised commercial deptt for the group.
2) Cost saving of Rs.One Crore on monthly basis through various
methods adopted.
3) Achieved Zero loss through non idling of sites for any reason
through better planning and time management skills.
4) Earned Good Reputation and credibility for company through best
business practices, better relationships and conflict management.
5) Apart from different commodities as mentioned above, also taking
care of Purchases (Kitchen Equipments, Laundry, Elevators, DG Sets,
HT Panels, HVAC, etc) and Commercial contracts (Architects,
Interior Designers, consultants for Lighting design, Landscape
design etc) for an upcoming 5-Star hotel in coordination with
'Marriott'.
6) Deeply involved in the purchase of electronic equipments for a News
Channel, a recently diversified business of company. The
responsibility includes purchase of equipments like Cameras,
Encoders, decoders, Set up boxes, Splitters, Video Wall,
Microphones, Swithers, DSNG Vans etc. It also includes purchase of
all IT products like software for graphics, Billing and Traffic,
Weather reports etc and the service contracts / AMCs for the same.
b) Escorts Ltd (Agrimachinery Group) : September' 90 to April' 08
Joined as Senior Engineer and left as Chief Manager (G-5). During the
tenure, looked after three manufacturing plants (simultaneously) for
following activities :
1) Planning and Scheduling of direct components on monthly, weekly and
day to day basis including forgings required for in house
manufacturing of Gears and Shafts, finished forging products,
different Cast Iron housings, Axle shafts, Bar stock and many other
products.
2) Ware House and inventory management for all the above.
3) Quality assurance for the above.
4) ISO 9000 and TS16949 Certification
Significant Achievements :
1) Designed and implemented concepts of FIFO (First In First Out), JIT
(Just in Time) and DOL (Direct on line).
2) Involvement in implementation of ERP system as 'Super User' for
better planning, scheduling and procurement.
3) Conceptualised and implemented system for vendor rating and
upgradation.
4) Brought down inventory levels to 50% of prevailing level.
5) Introduced innovative systems of material handling for damage free
movement of goods from suppliers' end to manufacturing plant and
within the plants also.

1) Cutting Tools (Drills, Reamers, Taps, Boring tools, cutting edges
etc)
2) Tooling Elements (Drill jigs, different types of Measuring gauges
etc)
Significant Achievements :
1) Cost saving through reduction in rejection rate
2) Increase in productivity through innovative designing of jigs.
d) Eicher Tractors Ltd : December 1989 to April 1990
Joined as Junior Engineer. Responsible for following:
1) Procurement of Castings of different housings (Engine Block,
Differential housing, Gear Box Housing etc)

1) Uninterrupted supplies through better planning and close monitoring
for smooth production.
2) Maintained good quality of incoming products through strict quality
measures.

Joined as Supervisor (Trainee) and left as Asstt Engineer. Major
