Senior Software Engineer 1999 – Present

• Designed, implemented and provides production support for a report tool that uses z/OS and

distributed data sources. This tool is utilized by management to compare the results of the new

.NET based telecom ordering system versus the legacy z/OS based system. My role involved:

Developing effective SQLs that run on multiple mainframe DB2 subsystems

Create and configure Windows Scheduled Tasks that run the report tool on the required schedule

Configure the report tool to either create HTML reports or text reports attached to an email

Performed required IIS setup and configuration to support the report tool

• Engaged in the development of a new .NET, C#, SQL Server based application to support the

telecom ordering processes at Verizon. This long term project’s goal is to migrate a z/OS based

(IMS/PL1) legacy ordering application to the distributed server platform. My role involves:

Analyzing legacy code

Creating detailed designs and test plans

Providing code review

Helping team members in developing code using OOP concepts

• Designed, implemented and provides production support for a test tool used by developers, testers

and analysts that emulates user input to a z/OS IMS based service order negotiation system by

utilizing screen scraping techniques. My role involved:

Designing and creating the test tool using VB.NET and emulator APIs.

Implementing domain based security for authorization to production versus test environment use

Implemented functionality to create different types of skeleton orders and to stop the process on a given step in the

simulated negotiation process

• Participated in the planning, analysis, and development of an Enterprise wide .Net web based

performance monitoring tool utilizing a wide range of technologies (MQ, FTPS, NDM, XML,

SQL Server, DB2, .NET, DHTML) to audit the success of billing estimation process. My role in

this project involved:

Creating web-based custom UI elements

Setting up an FTPS server for secure file transfer between mainframe and a server cluster

Implementing SSO based authentication and authorization

• Involved in the development and production support of a z/OS based solution that utilizes IMS,

JCL, COBOL, and NDM for providing billing data to a .NET based distributed application. My

role in this project included:

Creating JCLs and providing production support to aid in the secure transfer of data using NDM and MFT

technologies

• Designed, developed and provided production support for a .NET/SQL Server based account

inventory tool used by the developer by the test organizations to easily manage test accounts. My

role involved:

Designing and loading the database

Creating the UI front end

Setting up relationships between tables

Creating a load utility that has mainframe screen scraping technology

• Provided production support of both legacy z/OS (IMS/DB2/PL1/COBOL) order processing

application and .NET based ordering application.

• Single point of contact for analysis, development, testing and production support for a z/OS based

(IMS/PL1) service order processing system used by Verizon customer service representatives.

• Participated in the development of a multi-tiered Java based testing tool that enables users to edit,

manage, and submit XML test cases for z/OS based legacy system processing using IBM MQ. My

role in this project included:

Creating user authentication and authorization modules in VB

Enhancing the UI of the test tool to enable users to effectively modify test data

• Implemented new screens and an order rating module for a z/OS based service order processing

system.
