Strategized with development director to increased business contributions by establishing the Lancaster
Symphony Orchestra as an approved organization with Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax

Won the Symphony’s first federal grant award from the National Endowment for the Arts for Access to
Artistic Excellence. Went on to win this award five consecutive years.
Won a $25,000 federal grant through the recently-established American Reinvestment and Recovery Act
(ARRA) – one of only two performing arts organizations (state-wide) outside the Philadelphia and
Pittsburg area to receive this grant.

Self employed (1995 – 2002) as a private teacher (violin and viola), free-lance musician, rehearsal conductor,
graphic designer, music notator, and music revisionist.
Gained valuable experience teaching, coaching, and mentoring students primarily in high school and

Served as rehearsal conductor (string sections) and concert master at a local church.
Created and produced a method book sarcastically titled “The World’s Most Boring Technique Book” to
address common technique flaws typical of most students.
