ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN

Prepare operating rooms for daily workload which includes; FDA anesthesia machine check, set up general,

MAC, and/or regional cases, ensure inventory and stock for OR cases is readily available, consult operating

room schedule to determine equipment needs for procedures, and set up calibrating monitoring equipment.

Assist licensed anesthesia care provider in clinical settings outside the operating rooms to include; off-site, GI

endoscopy, interventional and diagnostic radiology, ambulatory surgery, and MRI.

Assists with transport of morbidly obese and ICU patients.

Assist anesthesia care providers with patient intubations, invasive line placement (i.e., arterial, central, and

PA) and fluid devices.

Key-liaison in troubleshooting situations involving machines, monitors, and anesthesia equipment. Clean,

repair, and perform routine maintenance on anesthesia equipment to ensure proper function. Turnover

operating rooms quickly and accurately for the next case.

Exercise proper infection control precautions according to internal policies and procedures. Disinfect EKG

lead wires, O2 pulse oximeter probe, NIBP cuff, and soiled equipment.

Stock anesthesia carts and drug trays.

Assists with patient care set-up, induction, emergencies, and transesophageal echocardiograph.
