operation with emphasis on direct labor and overhead variances. Decreased direct labor variance loss from
+/- {$15,000} to +/- {$1,200} per month. Responsible for 6 million in sales.
Director of Operations
Burton Golf - Jasper, AL - 1994 to 1996
Managed all facets of plant operation maintaining 700-800 golf bags per day. Supervised a staff of 150
employees. Worked closely with sales and scheduling to fill current and back orders. Assisted in annual
budgets and capital expenditures. Justified and purchased new equipment. Coordinated with accounting to
consolidate two facilities. Reported directly to the VP and CEO.
Assistant Plant Manager/Plant Engineer

Handled all production, costing and engineering for this 250-operator manufacturer of golf bags, head
covers, and luggage. Implemented total modular manufacturing throughout the plant. Doubled production
while decreasing direct labor cost. Also increased efficiency by more than 20%. Played a major role in
consolidating two plants, creating more than $350,000 in savings per year. Provided training, set up new
lines, introduced new procedures and assisted in preparing annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
Justified, projected, and installed computerized cutting, spreading and CAD equipment. Responsible for new
heating and cooling system which saved 30% in utility cost.
