To Whom It May Concern:
During my time in various internships I have had a variety of experiences. These include working with Northrop Grumman, Verizon Service Operations and the United States Geological Survey. In all of these positions I was given the opportunity to learn on the job and expand my knowledge in the respective fields. With the USGS I worked as a hydrologic technician, in a research driven environment that specialized in gathering water quality data, compiling it into an easily understood spreadsheet, and creating effective means of portraying the information. In addition, I was given the opportunity to work in the field while gathering data, which increased my ability to understand the relevance of my work in the office. It was these experiences that lead me to pursue my educational pathway of environmental engineering.
In my internship with Verizon I was introduced to a business centered environment, where I aided the company in finding ways to increase the number of potential customers available for Internet service. My most recent work with Northrop Grumman as an industrial hygiene intern has exposed me to an environment that combined both business and science. Working with the Health and Safety Department, I aided in gathering exposure monitoring data and inputting it into a common accessible database. This sampling and database are then used to assist the company in minimizing possible hazardous exposure to employees and increasing overall safety of the workplace.
I feel that my work experiences combined with my rigorous educational background have prepared me well for the duties and responsibilities that this position entails. You may reach me at (619) 920- 3415 or ********@*****.***. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you for your attention and consideration.
Sincerely,
Nicholas White
