GENERAL MANAGER
August 2006 to January 2014
Sonaca Wichita - Wichita, Kansas
Business: Produces aircraft wings, fuselage structural components and
major assemblies for commercial and military OEM's and first tier
suppliers both foreign and domestic with annual revenues of $8-$10M.
. Established shop scheduling processes and progress metrics to track
performance to schedule and key milestone events throughout the
manufacturing and production cycle. Developed status boards in
primary production areas to communicate schedule, quality, material
and labor KPI's.
. Launched Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives that resulted
in establishing superior shop cleanliness and organization, increased
labor efficiency from 58% to 81%, on-time delivery increased to 100%
and first pass quality went from 77% to 96% across multiple product
lines. Able to successfully achieve cultural change across the company
and created an environment of operational excellence.
. Implemented new EH&S initiatives that reduced recordable and lost
time personnel injuries by 85%, went from an average of 1 per month to
less than 2 per year. Initiated safety training, a safety review board
and exercise programs resulting in significant improvements in the
overall health and wellbeing of the employees. Achieved and maintained
100% compliance ratings with OSHA, NESHAPS, EPA and DOT.
. Successfully implemented new ERP system (VISUAL) to accurately
establish business and operations standard operating procedures and
control engineering, labor, inventory, quality and costs. This system
along with the Lean initiatives, led to the implementation of several
cost cutting/saving actions which allowed the company to reach
profitability for the first time in its history.
. Started Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program and was able to
reduce processing equipment and manufacturing machinery down time
from 4% to less than .05% which resulted in an overall equipment
effectiveness (OEE) rating of 98%.
. Acquired new business from major OEM supplier with 25 consigned
suppliers both domestic and foreign. Able to reduce total number of
suppliers down to 10 and generated nearly 15% in savings for a net of
$605K per year as well as increasing quality of parts received to 99%.

Victor Technologies Inc. - Denton, TX
Business: Global manufacturer of manual and automated plasma cutting
and welding equipment for oxygen/fuel torches, MIG and specialty
applications with annual revenues of $450M-$500M.
. Developed and managed a detailed plan for the relocation of a high
volume welding equipment manufacturing plant. Oversaw the production
of buffer stock, shut down - move and setup of over 75 different
machines, construction at the new facility, residual equipment
auction and closure of plant.
. Worked with transportation and construction companies to solicit
quotations and award contracts for the moving of equipment, machinery
and inventory, modification / construction at new location, auction
services and cleanup of the vacated property.
. Performed turnaround on manufacturing plant fabricating CNC oxy/fuel
and plasma cutting tables. Implemented 5S, shop control metrics and
lean manufacturing processes to reduce cycle build times by as much as
34%, direct labor costs by 30% and first pass quality improved to
almost 97%, business was profitable in 6 months.
MAUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER

. Directed a team of manufacturing and industrial engineers supporting
MRO and modification activities of military and commercial aircraft.
. Developed technical work instructions, schedules, shop floor control
metrics, launched requirements for parts, materials and tooling and
determined manufacturability for modifications.
. Drove Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives across site with
approximately 4500 employees.

Boeing Middle East Ltd. - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
. Full P&L and day-to-day administration of a $150M Contract Logistics
Support CLS program with the USAF United States Air Force and RSAF
Royal Saudi Air Force.
. Provided skilled expatriate pilot, aircrew and maintenance personnel
to train RSAF personnel in the operation and sustaining of the RSAF's
fleet of AWACS and Tanker aircraft.
