EXPERIENCE
West Virginia University January 2012 - Present
Graduate Research Assistant Morgantown, WV
Co-Developed CADEC-Computer Aided Design Environment for Composites, a Web Application
(http://www.cadec-online.com/) which allows users to design optimized Composite Laminate
Structure (CLS) based on the book Introduction to Composite Materials Design, Barbero, CRC
Press.
Developed a C# library project with hundreds of custom created server controls that brought
object oriented programming principles to front end consisting of 100 plus web pages resulting in
rigorous code reusability in front end design, standardization of the layout and an easy expansion
of the web application.
Replaced Mathjax, an open source javascript display engine used to display Latex equations in
MathML, with custom created Latex Renderer in C#, making the pages load much faster.
Thesis: Developed a new chapter in web application with automation of design procedures for
strenthening of Reinforced concrete using FRP adopted from the aforementioned book, as an
add-in into the cloud based web application CADEC. Design procedures are coded in c#, front
end is designed using c#, AJAX and ASP.NET, back end designed in Microsoft SQL.
Industrial Assessment Centre, WVU August 2011 - December 2011
Student Worker - Web Master Morgantown, WV
Designed and developed a research website (http://www2.cemr.wvu.edu/wwwiac/) and a pro-
file website for the principal investigator using HTML, JavaScript and CSS in Adobe
Dreamweaver .
Trained in Energy Audit methodology.
Infosys,Ltd. June 2009 - December 2009
Systems Engineer Mysore, India
Developed “Infy Transportation System ” project in Java Enterprise Application (J2EE).
Website developed with modules that included booking seats, scheduling buses, staff and users.
Back-end created using ORACLE-SQL.
The front end created using jsf and jsp.
Infosys,Ltd. January 2010 - July 2011
Stress Analysis Engineer, Steam Turbine Casings, Infosys-Alstom R&D Mysore, India
Supported research and development activities of Alstom power (Steam turbine unit)
Built a post processing tool in Python to analyze results
Made engineering judgments and executed stress analysis projects using finite element method
with Abaqus
Performed steady state and low cycle fatigue calculations for steam turbine casings designed for
‘Ultra Super Critical’ conditions. Optimized the geometry to sustain the casing through its life
time.
Provided design solutions such as optimization of the bolt layout on steam turbine casing to
ensure leak proof design.
Case study on materials used for high temperature applications.
Osmania University Sept 2005 - June 2009
Student Hyderabad, India
Modelled a Steam Locomotive Chassis in Catia V5 as a part of the National Solid Model Contest
conducted by SIEMENS PLM at Vasavi College of Engineering.
Modelled a Constant Mesh Gearbox of Light Duty Vehicle. Created perfect involute curves for
meshing gear teeth using equations in Catia V5.
