PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
RGM Electronics Technical Consultant
2009-Present
. Currently a consultant to a client in northern NJ after their acceptance
of a proposal for a warehouse inventory system project. Portions of the
project have been completed. Upon completion the following will be
accomplished; selection and acquisition of inventory management software
which included wireless identification; RF survey of the warehouse to
correctly locate the RFID interrogators; selection of hardware and set-up
of workstations for installation the software and creation of a network.
Future efforts will include selection and acquisition of RFID (RF
Identification) equipment including RFID tag makers; writing of procedures
for employees to switch-over and operate the system; follow-up consulting.
RGM Electronics Technical Consultant 2009-
Present
Providing Technical Consulting for a variety of concerns involving smart
phone apps, databases, antenna
design, and HD broadcasting.
. Planned effort to develop simplified method using smart phone application
for in-building wireless site
survey; increasing familiarity with iBwave software (in-building
propagation), and CST products.
. Follow-up effort to implement application for inventory location similar
to RFID.
. Operated as Project Manager for large State affiliated online membership
data base utilizing: PHP, HTML,
MySQL, Apache, and Javascript.
. Design and development of novel reduced size Antenna for home television
or WiMax use; utilizing C++
and CAELinux (Linux based analysis tool).
. Developed detailed system proposal for transmission of HD video broadcast
signals over WiMax style link
for transmission of medical imaging data to increase saleability of medical
imaging products to physicians.
Lutron Corp. Wireless R&D Engineer
2008-2009
Under Contract with Lutron to plan and conduct test programs for the
research and development of wireless
communications for control of industrial lighting.
. Applied expert knowledge of indoor and outdoor radio wave propagation
such as GSM, the ITU model, the
multi-ray, and two-ray propagation models. In-building site survey was done
in 802.11g wireless bands.
Efforts resulted in a product concept.
. Designed and built prototype antennas such as top-loaded monopole, patch,
and PIFA. Smith Chart
application knowledge, tuning using lumped circuit elements, stubs,
impedance transformers. Microstrip
and stripline constructions were used for prototype development, and
standard dipole antennas for both site
surveys and calibration were built.
RGM Electronics Technical Consultant
2006-2008
Provided Technical consulting for a company focused on antenna system
development.
. Consulted in the use of the Nested Cup Dipole Feed for broadband
reflector antenna development; helping
to expand the number of proposals the client could respond to.
. Analyzed tracking antenna system performance using available hardware as
an alternative to an optimal
design to provide continuous cost savings.
ITT Avionics Company Senior Test Engineer
2005-2006
Under Contract with ITT as a Test Engineer for a complex airborne EW
system, the AN/ALQ-172
. Handled all troubleshooting with expert use of schematics, system
documentation, cabling diagrams, and
computer line code. Performed Final Acceptance Testing of various modified
LRUs for the US Air Force.
. Integrated a high power DC (800 Watt) test stand for the testing of
Traveling Wave tube Amplifiers (TWTAs), then conducted testing of TWTAs.
Performed maintenance and repair of the EMTS, AN/ALM-289, and AN/USM-603 RF
EW Test Set maintaining continuous work flow and providing essential
equipment to the U.S. Air Force customer.

Raytheon Corporation Chief Support Engineer
2003-2004
Responsible engineer for Special Test Equipment (STE) design, fabrication,
and integration into 3 nearfield
test facilities; used to test High Power Active Electronically Scanned
Array (AESA) aircraft radars.
. Generated and released full set of drawings to enable the production of
the qualification test equipment.
. Supervised, scheduled, and monitored the activities of the cable/board
assembler, mechanical assembler,
and drafter for the design and fabrication of high power DC supply and
control rack, cable/harness, circuit boards, and modules producing
essential equipment for qualification and acceptance testing.
. Combined analog/digital circuit design for system status monitoring,
coolant temperature and flow control,
RF radiation hazard, and interlock controls. Integration and test of high
power DC supply interface for test
of array transmitter function. Extensive use of OrCad, Pspice, and Autocad
at rack, unit and board levels.
EMP Systems Senior Project Engineer
2001-2003
Contracted to EMP to design shaped reflectors and various feed types,
produce procedures, and perform
microwave device measurements.
. Designed, prototyped, and tested a novel high power dual-Circular
polarized UHF feed and an L/S band
conical scan antenna feed using HFSS and NECREF for the design; all
completed on a small emergency
budget (due to program redirection) utilizing existing resources.
. Specification of RF switches and high power RF circuitry was accomplished
resulting from problems
uncovered by link budget analysis; heading off damage to high value parts
scheduled for stress testing.
Datron / Transco Inc. Ground Station Project Engineer
1997-2000
. Responsible Engineer for subsystem equipment integration for seven 13-
meter reflector antennas
systems (from L to Ku frequency bands) to track POES satellites. This was a
key project engineering role
in the delivery of $70 million of hardware still in use by the National
Weather Service (NWS).
