other duties would involve cutting and measuring. wiring in landing locks, tap head, landing push stations.

every job we worked on we had to make sure everything was set up properly and correct because on these

jobs were dead line’s, and everything had to be right, there was no room for any mistakes.!

!

ELEVATION LIFTS: 2011 - 2013!

!

My main work back ground here is being a lift engineer trainee, i’v learnt a lot during the two and a half years of

being a trainee at elevation, i learnt all types of control systems and there components, including panels like

Carlo silver, Lester controls, Kone, and Otis equipment, but during my time at elevation i was placed with

different engineers around London and essex, some would be service and repair, others field technicians, and

others would be on the refurbishment side of things, so i had the best of both worlds for my education in lifts,

as i would be shown how to fault find which on some jobs can be easy and other jobs very difficult and

stressful. as there could be days spend on trying to fault find and solve the problem. And then on other days of

the week i would spend my time seeing how a lift car and shaft would be completely stripped down to have

new cables, flexes, and other brand new equipment put in. I also learnt how to solve problems under pressure

but very safely, one key feature was safety in my role as it was to look after myself and the well-being of my

colleague through team work as i would be working with very high voltage, and very fast moving machinery, it

gave me a lot of confidence and a lot of new experiences, but my learning wasn’t all to do with lifts, i also

gained a lot of new experiences in talking to customers, talking to them about the situation in hand and what

could be done about it, i also would work independently when i could. And did various jobs on my own, like

rewiring, refilling hydraulic tanks, replace old proximity switches, replace electronic components and read

through electrical drawings, my attendance is 100%, i put in a lot of hours in to my work and like to help out

other people if i can. why being at elevation other duties would involve handing over the right tools for my

colleague to use, learn and understand what each component was used for, how it worked and what its

purpose was, also when ever a curtain piece of equipment was to be replaced, i would take it apart and see

how it would work inside, that was one of the best ways of understanding and learning about the things you

are working with. i was well motivated and keen to take responsibility during my time working there. !

!

CAFE WORKER - BATTLES BRIDGE: 2010 - 2011!

!

I worked with a hard working team. most of the time under pressure, my duties would involve washing,

cleaning, handling money, and cooking, i was often left in charge of the cafe as my boss would have her own

antique store across the road, so i would be cooking, why i had other colleges take orders and serve, it was

a stressful but well rewarded job and had gained a lot of experience in leadership and trust, but soon left

because of my start at elevation!

!

WINDOW FITTERS MATE: 2009 - 2010!

! work duties would be getting to site at 6am every morning, setting up!

my

a strategy plan with the team, then on to cutting and drilling out all the old!
