I am looking for a maintenance management position near the
Montgomery, Auburn or Troy areas. I live about 30 minutes southeast of
Montgomery, Al. I have been married for 13 years and have 3 wonderful kids.
I am looking to get back into the maintenance field. My work history is
scattered. I have worked in many different industries and as you will see,
but please don't hold that against me. I believe that I am a well round
individual with an open mind. By combining my knowledge of several
different fields of work and combining them has enhanced my ability to
think outside of the box and see ways of improvement. If people like me did
not think outside of the box, we would still be living in the stone age.
My work history is as follows:
Presently: Bonnie Plant Farms - Salesman
I am a route salesman in the southern New,Jersey area. I sale and
deliver herb and vegetable plants to customers. I have increased the sales
on the route by over $100,000 in the past three years. Reason for me
looking is that my family stays in Alabama while I'm working. I don't see
them from February to July each year.
2009-2011: KW Container - Maintenance - Injection Plastics
This was a plastics company specializing in production of plastic
paint cans. I worked as a maintenance tech. I also trained new maintenance
employees. I was the on-call maintenance tech over the whole plant after
only 2 months of employment. Other on-call techs took over 6 months to be
placed on call and were only called for certain areas of the plant. Reason
for leaving is that the company started having layoffs and cutting hours
back due to lack of sales. I was never laid off or cut hours, but I never
knew from day to day if the doors were going to stay open.
2007-2009: Wayne Farms - Maintenance Supervisor 1st shift
Wayne Farms is a 1st process poultry plant. This was very new to me,
but I caught on quick. While employed I saw the lack of training within
the employees. I went over the PM program made necessary changes and
updates. Gave test for all maintenance employees to see their level of
ability. The cost of operation dipped dramaticly over the next 6 months.
Downtime from training and proper PM's being performed decreased from hours
a week to hours a month. Some weeks we had no down time. At first the
maintenance staff was not happy with me changing there way of doing things,
but after a few months they appreciated it. The equipment started running
with less breakdowns and their training helped them understand how the
equipment operated. I always praised them for their turn around at the
plant. I am still great friends with the maintenance team.
2006-2007: CSX railroad - Conductor
CSX is a Class I railroad. I worked as a freight conductor ensuring
freight cars are positioned correctly in the train and all cars are
delivered to the proper destination. Help ensure the engineer is
controlling the train properly and other various jobs. Left due being laid
off.
2004-2006: Graham Packaging - Maintenance Tech/Line Supervisor - Blow
Molded Plastics - Managed 10 employees.
Graham Packaging is the largest bottle manufacture in the world. Hired
to help install a new line. The "Arizona Gallon Tea" bottles. After the
line was up and running we, the maintenance team and myself, made several
modifications to the line to speed up production. After about 9 months we
where out producing the other 5 plants that manufactured the Arizona bottle
2 to 1. I was asked to help form a company tech crew to travel from plant
to plant to help find problems and come up with ideas to increase
production. Every facility that we visited had an increase in production.
Left due to plant closure and did not want to relocate.
2002-2004: Progress Rail Services - Electrician
Progress Rail owned Kershaw, which is a manufacture of rail and right-
of-way equipment. I worked as an electrician building, designing and
installing wiring harnesses and electrical components. Designed and
redesigned several electrical systems on many pieces of equipment being
produced at this facility. Reason for leaving was several factors including
no raise as promised, layoffs and many other problems.
1999-2002: Winn-Dixie - Maintenance Tech/Trainer
1998-1999: Sanders Lead - Electrician
1995-1998: Poole Truck Lines - Diesel Shop Supervisor - Managed over 60
employees.
1993-1995: US Navy - Aircraft Mechanic
Schools:
1993 - McKenzie High - McKenzie, Al - Diploma
1993 - Butler County Tech school - Welding Certificate
1993 - US Navy - Aircraft Hydraulic and Pneumatic school
1995 - 1998 - Reid State Technical College - Industrial Electronics and
Electricity
2006 - Okefenokee Technical College - Railroad Conductor school
FEMA Test completed: NIMS 100, NIMS 700, NIMS 800
