Responsibilities
My job was to make sure all mail was delivered on time and collected on
time from locations all over Suffolk.
Several times I was put in charge of the whole Mail Center and acted as

To make sure everything was kept in a tidy order and all aspects of health
and safety were carried out. I would unload large Lorries with the fork

Accomplishments
I began as a postman and then became a manager. I went to college and
trained to be a Health & Safety Officer, after which time I cut down
accidents by 60%.
I took courses on how to help the disabled staff that we employ. To make
sure they had all they needed. I was a trained 'Buddy'. This meant that in
an emergency, I would get the deaf and handicapped out off danger if there
was fire.
I was Fire Marshall for about six months. When I left Royal Mail I had
gained 10 A level passes in Health & Safety and disability issues.
Skills Used
I used all my Health & Safety skills every day to reduce accidents and
increase people's awareness of safety.
