Managed staff to facilitate work planning across site in order to
optimize work efficiency to better meet project
demands. Reinstituted interactive Work Review Group to analyze hazards
of work and eliminate accidents.

as part of an overall site work
efficiency effort. Managed Site Work Control system and work planning

technicians, and janitorial staff to meet demands of site
infrastructure and projects. Reduced staffing of instrument

Managed operations staff of all waste processing, waste storage, and
waste shipping activities. Record amounts
of low level waste were processed and shipped in 2005. Waste shipping
continued in 2006 along with cleanup
of site hardstands as part of footprint reduction efforts.
Vitrification D&D Operations Manager, 2004-2005
Managed decontamination and decommissioning of Vitrification facility
previously used during the solidification of highly hazardous
radioactive waste into solid glass form.
. Largest decontamination and decommissioning project scope on the
West Valley site, over $21 million budget.
Site Engineering Manager, 2003
Oversaw site projects in support of facility related
upgrades/modifications and project related work necessary to
meet overall customer requirements within defined schedule and
budgetary constraints.
. Also managed final operational readiness activities for spent
fuel shipment in mid year 2003.

Managed all aspects of decontamination and decommissioning of Fuel
Receiving and Storage (FRS) facility. Responsibilities include budget,

Spent Fuel Shipping (SFS) Manager, 2000 - 2001
Managed SFS project personnel to prepare for and load all remaining
spent nuclear fuel into unique
shipping casks for shipment by rail to Idaho.
. Oversaw appointment of Training Coordinator and development of
SFS training program which emphasized hands-on evolutions to be
performed with non-radioactive waste (mock-up) fuel assemblies.
. Directed all operations personnel through a series of rigorous
readiness reviews to ensure the people, procedures and equipment
were adequate to handle spent nuclear fuel.
. Safe fuel loading was completed 2 months ahead of schedule in
preparation for the largest commercial spent nuclear fuel
shipment ever made in the United States.
Main Plant Facility Operations Manager, 1995-2000
Developed, planned and managed $20 million/year annual operating
budget for a round-the-clock site facility operations group. Provided
support for all safety and conduct of operations programs. Oversaw
site water team
to manage all site water issues within New York permit criteria for 5
years running.
. Operations included plant ventilation, service utilities, Spent
Fuel Shipping Operations, low-level waste liquid treatment
system, sewage treatment system including SPDES permit
compliance, and site Emergency Response Team.
Facility Engineering Manager, 1990-1995
Managed engineering support for Main Plant and Waste Operations in
areas of fire protection,
telecommunications, asbestos removal, office space allocation, and
small facility project design.
. Directed successful completion of additional office space to
support needs during site growth periods.
