Capstone Project: Acted as the lead in a 5-person team for the design and development of the chassis,
•
suspension, and drive train of an amphibious autonomous robot that can function on land and water.
Performed the CAD modeling of parts, calculations, design research, concept generation and technical writing.
Led weekly meetings, liaised with advisors, and ensured project goals and deadlines were met. Received an A+
grade and the award for the best Capstone Project of this year.
Chassis Systems Design: Led a 4-person team in designing a steering system for a passenger vehicle.
•
Performed research and feasibility analysis, designed parts and prototype with NX, constructed prototype,
and developed a maintenance manual and presentation. Received an A grade.
Powertrain Design: Designed a powertrain system for a small pickup truck as part of a 5-person group.
•
Accountable for compiling and editing engineering report, technical calculations, performance evaluation,
and selection of engine and transmission parameters. Received an A grade.
Air Standard Engine: Designed the parameters for a 4-stroke gasoline engine.
•
Vehicle Dynamics & Control: Simulated effects using CarSim of front and rear suspension characteristics on
•
handling characteristics at 100 km/h and steering wheel rate of 30 deg/s. Received an A+ grade.
Automotive Structural Design: Performed SSS-based structural analysis to determine the material that would
•
maximize stiffness and minimize vehicle weight. Developed and presented the findings.
Tire Handling Machine: Designed an autonomous robot as part of 8-person team capable of picking up and
•
placing 3 different size tires from 3 conveyer belts. Performed the CAD modeling, Finite Element analysis,
and full motion simulation using NX. Created engineering documents and wrote the final engineering report.
Maze Solving Robot: Designed an autonomous robot as part of 7-person team capable of solving and
•
navigating through a maze without any intervention. Performed the overall design process, building, and
programming of the robot. Demonstrated the robot in action and compiled the final engineering report.

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE
10 years of detailed experience in troubleshooting, repairing and customizing automobiles. Performed
numerous scheduled maintenance tasks and repair jobs such as oil changes, replacement of brakes and other
malfunctioning parts. Performed many performance and customization related enhancements such as
suspension, power and cosmetic upgrades.
Key Projects:
1996 Honda Civic SI: Obtained the vehicle with minor front and rear end damage for a personal project.
•
Repaired the front and rear end damages by replacing and fabricating the damaged parts and components.
Installed a fully custom JDM front clip with custom fabrication facilitating the install. Repaired corroded
quarter panels by cutting out and removing older panels and welding in newer replacements. Upgraded
original powertrain with a naturally aspirated B16A2 engine and matching transmission to incorporate more
power. Rebuilt the original engine which was later sold. Performed many other performance related
upgrades such as custom suspension install, and upgraded brakes.
S14 Nissan 240SX: Collaborated on this vehicle to perform many custom modifications and performance
•
upgrades. Replaced the original non-working engine with a similar JDM engine from the same model vehicle.
Upgraded and replaced the original turbocharger with an aftermarket turbocharger kit to further enhance the
power output. Many other performance and cosmetic enhancements were made to this vehicle, such as
suspension upgrades. Vehicle is currently sponsored by Yokohama and is a regular at many local car shows.
S13 Nissan 240SX Drift Car: Collaborated on this project in producing a vehicle which is to be used in the
•
sport of drifting. Vehicle was obtained essentially as a body in white with many necessary components not
present. Fully fabricated custom front wheel wells to facilitate larger tires for drifting. Designed and
constructed a fully custom front end including the engine bay for the addition of larger wheel wells and to
incorporate an upgraded turbocharger and intercooler. Installed many essential components such as a JDM
engine, transmission, suspension, steering components, driving axles, and body panels.
Subaru Impreza RS Coupe: Collaborated on upgrading to a full STI engine and transmission swap from a
•
more powerful version of the vehicle. Performed the removal of the old wiring with the replacement of
newer wiring to coincide with the upgraded engine. Removed the original powertrain and replaced it with
the more powerful engine and transmission upgrade.
1988 BMW E30 328i: Current project in progress. Vehicle was obtained as a rolling chassis with a blown
•
engine and many damaged and corroded body parts and panels. Removed engine to begin a complete
overhaul and rebuild as the original engine will be used. Performed the removal of all interchangeable body
parts. Began the restoration process by removing all damaged and corroded panels and parts to be either
replaced or repaired.
