2 RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Radiological Control Lead Technician, (2010-Present)

Safety Engineering – The ability to recognize, investigate, analyze, and control hazards. Job hazard

analysis including calculating injury frequency and severity rates. An understanding of controls necessary for

pressure safety, welding, operating in confined spaces and the primary hazards associated with

construction/manufacturing sites. Knowledge of a basic machine guarding assessment. Selection of job

specific PPE requirements and enforcement of use. Training in HAZCOM.

• Accident Prevention –Analysis of the costs and effects of accidents on industry, the economy, and society.

Knowledge of OSHA forms to be maintained and posted by employers. An understanding of workers'

compensation and categories of compensable injuries. Used methods to protect against mechanical/electrical

injuries, including lockout/tagout programs. Use of proper ergonomics to prevent problems and create

solutions to those problems in the workplace. Assess the impact of falls and slips and the guarding of such

hazards including fall protection. Understanding of chemical hazards and their major exposure routes to

humans. Hearing conservation programs. Use of methods to promote workplace safety and health including

VPP and BBS. Facilitated safety and health training both as a participant and leader.

• Monitoring -- operation of industrial hygiene monitors, maintenance and calibration of these systems, proper

selection and use of various monitoring systems for evaluation of hazards, and the interpretation and

reporting of such evaluations. Performed environmental monitoring/sampling programs, including

collection/analysis of air, soil, surface water, and drinking water samples; environmental dosimetry

(contamination surveys of job sites).

• Hazardous Waste Operations. & Emer. Response – training in hazardous waste operations and cleanup

procedures for hazardous waste sites as required by Federal, state, local or other governments including

emergency response operations for hazardous substance releases.

• Dosimetry – monitoring internal and external exposure of personnel air contaminants and interpretation of

these results and techniques for minimization of personnel dose. Administered personnel radiation exposure

monitoring programs, including personnel dosimetry, exposure investigation, tritium bioassay, whole body

counting, neutron dose tracking, electronic dosimeter maintenance, respirator fit testing and qualification, and

radiation exposure records.

• Hazardous Materials Handling – provide safe control, movement, use, storage, transportation and disposal of

hazardous materials.

• Industrial Safety and Response – ensuring and maintaining exposures ALARA (As Low As Reasonably

Achievable) for the safety of individuals, the work environment, and the population, including response to

abnormal and emergency conditions.

• Scheduling – Responsible for maintaining employee schedules and that all tasks were attended to before close

of business.

• Training – Trained new employees on tasks to be preformed and maintained continual training as new

procedures were implemented.
