ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE
PKMM, Incorporated
June 1, 2012 – Present
Systems Design Engineer
Supports the Project Manager by providing conceptual security solutions and applying them to a technical design plan and layout and acts as the point of reference for technical issues in the following areas:
Proficient in the use and application of Computer Aided Design (CAD) with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor developing design packages of electrical drawings and mechanical drawings.
-Packages include IAMD Humvee shelter racks encompassing shelves, hardware such as radios, mounting hardware such as brackets, cable assemblies, and power supplies as well as their wiring diagrams.
-Interface with manufacturing engineers to support manufacturing and fabrication applications. Generate new product drawings and prepare revisions for current drawings.
-Create 2-D/3-D computer models generated from customer emails, faxes, and via telephone. Prepare and present results to customer(s). Oversee the development and design of layouts and modification of existing designs to satisfy requirements.
Responsible for assuring that specification of equipment and software will meet the conceptual requirements accounting for the intended or existing theoretic designs.
-Compile bill of materials lists facilitating an accurate expected cost against which to track actual production costs. The complete bill forms the basis for material and capacity planning, shop floor control and costing resulting in range of magnitudes.
Ensures that a product will work with the proposed devices by testing theoretical designs, and evaluating whether they will perform consistently in the specified operating environments.
-Communicate with customers seeking information on type, size, and dimensions of requested product. Generate quotes and process job orders and special components.
Performs mission needs analysis, operational requirements analysis, specification review, design analysis, simulations and staging, material engineering, system reliability, maintainability, security configurations management, software development and subsystem support.
-Respond to information requests concerning proper applications and equipment functionality of products. Analyze customer and product issues and recommend changes.
Supports Program Management, Field Engineers and Maintenance Technicians.
Perform a full range of upgrades to the existing and emerging architecture.
-Upgraded 16 RMOS container units for deployment.
-Designed a complete ADAFCO Kit and ADAM Transit Kit consisting of laptop, radio, phone, and Cisco firewall for U.S. troop deployment.
Support the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all integration activities and communications links for the customer(s) and other duties as assigned by management.
Analyze, create, and report on project implementation plans to minimize risk.

Logistics Mechanical Engineer, Transportation Technical Specialist
Applied proficient technical ability with the 3D CAD program Pro\E (with GD&T) in the evaluation of engineering models and drawings for completeness of design, adherence to all documentation requirements, proper dimensioning techniques, fit checks, incorporating redlines, and tolerance analysis to ensure items can be fabricated as designed for the Ares I Program.
-Assisted with development, maintenance, and modification of system and component designs to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Worked with load and stress analysts to understand design decisions.
-Designed a model and assembly drawing of a 5' x 3' Forward Radial Interface Block and 5' x 3' Aft Radial Interface Block for Total Packaging Solutions to produce in accordance with transporting the Common Bulkhead Dome Assembly from the Marshall Space Flight Center to United Launch Alliance in Decatur, AL.
-Created a drawing of a 32' mobile crane utilizing limited floor space; prepared analysis, provided advice, and made recommendations resulting in the drawing being placed within the Simulator Procedure to complete moving the Upper & Lower Alta Simulators.
-Upgraded a new model and assembly drawing for the Marine Transportation Equipment Aft Bracket by retaining the required design and interfaces, but making necessary geometric dimensional changes resulting in a smaller more efficient bracket to use for securing external tanks on the External Tank Transporter.
-Redesigned dimensional enhancements to the models and assembly drawings of the Test Load Fixture that resulted with the parts properly aligning on the deck of the NASA Barge Pegasus. Completed the design tasks through final release in Windchill.
-Developed the model and assembly drawing of a 14.25 inch, 15 pound Ratchet used with other Ground Support Equipment for securing the External Tank Transporter and its cargo onto the NASA Barge Pegasus.
Provided programmatic, technical, analytic, and engineering support to the NASA Ares Program in planning integrated, comprehensive Test Preparation Sheets (TPS’s) and Procedures for the Upper Stage Common Bulkhead Dome operations and the overall Constellation Program.
Defined and resolved complex problems with cross organizational boundaries developing technical solutions to meet engineering requirements, while providing supervision and direction to the support teams.
Managed the development, test, and production activities of the Logistic Departments air bearing pallets and support interface blocks to optimize the design and achieve program goals providing leadership of detailed research, e.g. testing of equipment to confirm standards of performance, quality, safety, and cost are met.
Conceptualized an 'Ares I Upper Stage' Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation Plan for a Logistics and Transportation Design Presentation resulting in providing a better understanding of our department to customers.
Participated in meetings and conferences assisting in the development of meeting minutes, logistical support, data gathering, and reporting of data.
