Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible for creating and preparing process plans for this local machine and assembly shop which services the aircraft ind ustry.

Responsibilities include:

Use engineering information to create planning and shop work orders for aircraft components.

Research and resolve manufacturing issues.

As project coordinator for major customer order, created project planning schedule using MS Project, assigned planning tasks as

required and planned components on customer purchase order. Coordinated with tooling, programming and shop regarding part

and assembly build. Identified, submitted and coordinated with customer on design and manufacturability opportunities.

As project assistant and core team member for new Advanced Manufacturing Cell for high technology rotating components,

created cost and price estimates, setup bills of materials (BOMs), created project schedule using MS Project for new component

build, coordinated all purchased components with supply chain team, created structur e for document and information storage

and control, and led the implementation of a paperless system in the cell by learning and training all IFS ERP components that

would get us there.

Kaizen lead for EBIT eaters project. Identified parts that are not pr ofitable due to process inefficiencies and identified wasteful

operations. By optimizing the setup, tool path and eliminating wasteful operations that could be combined, one of a family o f

parts increased profit for that part number by 48.4%. Event was t he first of series of events that helped to identify other parts

that had minimal or negative profit margins.
