• Project Preliminary Stage:
Assist client in selecting the best professional team to design the project (architects, structural and
civil engineers, Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers) and making a contractual
agreement with them.
Make a review of project scope and schedule the project with respect to project budget and project
time frame.
Make recommendations during design phase, and coordinate with relevant authorities for approvals
for the construction (local government and environmental regulatory bodies)
Prepare tender documents and submit to contractors to bid competitively for the work
Oversee with the help of Quantity Surveyor of appointing the best contractor for the proposed works.
• Project Construction Stage:
Develop Gantt charts to establish time lines and critical path scheduling where necessary as well as
financial budget for the project based on the timelines (monthly)
Formalize contractual agreement with contractors and project developers.
Coordinate site meetings with professionals, developers and contractors to monitor progress of works.
To ensure construction work on the ground is as per approved drawings. Make daily site visits
whereby work progress is checked, issues raised on site are sorted out and further recommendations
are made to the client which reflect positively on delivery time and budget.
Prepare weekly progress reports on work, monthly reports on material consumed and delivered to site.
Overall planning of activities concerned with the construction project.
• Project completion and Handover:
To ensure proper completion of works at the right time a snag list is prepared from where all minor
defects are eliminated.
Coordinate that minor problems are solved before client takes possession of the development; and
ensures these problems are resolved within the stipulated post construction time frame

Muthama Heights, Nairobi – 48 semi-detached massionnates each 2,000ft2 floor area. Project value $2.5M
and estimated completion period 15 months; completed within 13.5months
360 Court Apartments Phase1, Nairobi – 384Nos - 2 bedroom apartment units divided in 7 blocks with a
commercial centre. Each unit had a floor area of 1000ft2. Project cost was $7M and estimated completion
time was 18months; project completed in 18 months.
360 Court Apartments Phase 2A, Nairobi – 186Nos – 3 bedroom apartment units of 1,500ft2 each divided in
eight blocks. Project cost $6.5M. Project estimated time of completion was 15months but was finished in
16months.

on contract and coordinating between design office and fabrication workshop that steel is fabricated and
delivered in the quickest and efficient way within the proposed time frame.

Zanzibar Sanitation and Drainage Programme –
Project funded by KfW (German); the clients were Zanzibar Municipal Council and Gauff Inginuere were the
project consultants.
The scope of work involved casting concrete access structures (small bridges, box culverts
and pipe culverts) across open drain channels at various locations of the Municipality. My
responsibility under this project was the project engineer, coordinating and executing works
between the team on the ground and the project consultants
Proposed Dolphin View Paradise Resort –
A turnkey project involving structural designing and construction of 30 villa units, a main resort centre, staff
quarters, fitness center, swimming pool and spa and wellness centre in Zanzibar. The design and construction
of civil works (water supply lines, sewer lines, storm water drainage and internal roads and walkways).
My responsibility was designing and making working drawings on AutoCAD for the water supply system,
sewer system, walkways and main road. I also made structural working drawings for reinforced slab and beam
members.
The following were design and build projects where my main responsibilities were in issuing material
schedules, making working drawings using AutoCAD, negotiating labor subcontracts and authorizing payment
certificates. The projects were:
Proposed expansion works at Sunset Bay Hotel – Zanzibar
Proposed construction of Matemwe Beach Bungalows - Zanzibar
Proposed godown, residential house and office building for Zanzibar Gallery Ltd – Design and build project
involving three storied godown and residential house and two storied office building in Zanzibar. I carried out
structural design and made working drawings of columns, beams, slab and staircase, made material schedule,
negotiated labor sub-contracts and authorized payment certificates.
Erection of 12m, 24m, 36m and 50m high mobile telephony towers for ZANTEL Tanzania and construction of
service buildings in Zanzibar, Pemba and Dar-es Salaam. My main responsibility involved site supervision and
management, making material schedule, supervision of works and negotiating labour sub-contract and
authorizing payment certificates.

In all these projects my responsibilities included supervision of works, planning and organizing the site and the
works. I made the technical report for the project as part of the tender bid document and carried out cost
analysis for each activity in the Bills of Quantities which assisted in filling the rates for the project.
