separate occasions, I used SAP Dump Analysis and Version
Management functionality to precisely identify ABAP code
deficiencies and therefore allow Developers to implement
corrective action in a timely fashion.

PRATT & WHITNEY CANADA, Longueuil, Canada (Domain: Aerospace)
Jul 1990 - Mar 1999
Web: http://www.pwc.ca/en/home
Senior multi-role SAP Functional and Technical Lead
Actively participated in all Business and Technical phases of
two major SAP implementations at P&WC.
The R/3 implementation approach was "Big Bang". The majority of
the SAP modules were implemented. Approximately 95% of P&WC's
Business data was converted. A two and half year effort was
focused on 'Going Live' on January 4, 1999.
Responsibilities in order of effort:
. IT lead responsible to map, clean and convert Material
Master, Sales and Distribution, BOMs and Warehouse data - 18
months
. IT lead responsible to write procedures and code sample
programs to support the Data Conversion and Interface efforts
- 5 months
. IT lead responsible to identify, procure and implement third
party products to fill in SAP weaknesses - 12 months
. IT Team member to evaluate the SAP Application Workbench to
ensure that it was robust enough to support Application
Development at P&WC. This was achieved by developing a HR
time card system, still in use to-day - 6 months
. IT lead in the preparation of the Project's Funds
Appropriation document - 3 months
The SAP R/2 implementation onto an IBM Mainframe was
fundamentally a conversion to MRP II from an existing in-house
MRP Application. As the implementation period lasted 12 months;
the project resulted in having an excessive number of interfaces
and having to maintain identical Master data in both the SAP R/2
and Legacy systems.
My main responsibilities, in chronological order:
. IT Team lead to analyze current in-house applications and
recommend whether to continue to develop in-house or acquire
a MRP II package - 12 months
. IT Team lead to evaluate existing MRP II packages on the
market and select one of them - 6 months
. IT Team lead to set up an IT training program for in-house
ABAP programmers - 2 months
. IT Team lead to develop an IT Cut-Over strategy - 3 months
. IT Team member with the role to code, test and execute data
extraction and load programs - 18 months
. IT Team lead to maintain Data Integrity during and after the
implementation - 12 months
. IT Team lead to leverage the MM, SD and WM capabilities of
SAP R/2 and improve Business Processes - 18 months

. Performed all functions involved in developing and
maintaining in-house developed Business Applications,
focusing on Material Master, BOMs, Inventory Master and MRP.

COBOL and the applications ran in an IBM IMS DB/DC
environment.
