Cover Statement: Seeking position in an organization within which my

Personal Strengths

Position - Principal Mechanical Design Engineer II (SSL Outdoor)

Responsible for the design and development of new outdoor lighting for

road, area and location lighting products utilizing LED's as the primary

lighting source. Also the upgrade of existing product lines currently using

either fluorescent or HID light sources into product suitable for LED's.

Responsible for organizing the implementation of UL1598 and IP rating to

both new and upgraded existing product lines. The modification of OEM

product lines to comply with company requirements and standards.

Maintaining revision status of OEM product lines regarding testing status

and release dates. Research of marketable products that could be converted

to LED usage and submittal to marketing department for investigation. CAD

Software used SolidWorks.

Position - Project Manager / Service Manager

As Project Manager 'I completed several large contracts for H.V.A.C.

Product and related building services managing projects for time, cost and

area code compliance. Hiring and supervision of local labor and ensuring

projects were completed on schedule and within budget.. Also responsible

for direct and indirect supervision of installation of all related hardware

for large commercial projects

As Service Manager I took the company from being in the position of using

paper records and losing money to having all the customers and their

equipment on computer data base. Including model and serial numbers for

warranty cover. I updated the costing system and brought the department

back into profitability. I also introduced a system of planned

preventative maintenance for larger customers and practically eliminated

further equipment breakdowns for these customers. When the company became a

service and repair center for a Standby Generator company I took this on

board and developed this department, servicing the units myself until

suitable employees could be found.

2003- 2004 Cooper Lighting Vicksburg Mississippi

Position - Product Design Engineer

Cooper Lighting the second largest manufacturer of lighting products and

related components in the U.S.A. with an extensive range in most all areas

of Lighting. I was recruited by the company at the beginning of this year

and was made responsible for the design and product development of Fail-

Safe, Lumark, McGraw and Metalux ranges. I am Involved from start to finish

in major projects from initial concepts to ensuring that product is

suitable for relevant standards and certifications.

2000 - 2002 Custom Mechanical Inc., PO Box 129, Troy, Illinois 62294

Experience: Position - Project Manager

Responsible Project Management of H.V.A.C. product and associated duct work

for large commercial and retail distribution centers across the U.S.A.

Hiring and supervision of local labor and ensuring projects were completed

on schedule and within budget. Production of maintenance and service

manuals for equipment installed. Major customer Walgreen's.

1997 - 2000 Tamlite Lighting, 660 Peacock Drive, Port St Lucie, Florida

Position - Executive V.P. Business Development U.S.A. / Factory Manager

Recruited into the company in the UK and transferred across to the USA in

December 1997 as Executive Vice President I was charged with the task of

starting and developing the Tamlite Lighting operation in the USA. I built

and established four Lighting factory units

Tamlite Fluorescent, producing a full range of strips, wraps, under cabinet

lights, and wet location sealed fixtures.

Tamlite HID, wallpacks, highbays, barnlights. And other High Intensity lamp

fixtures.

Tamlite Modular for recessed modular fluorescent based fixtures

Tamco A Warehousing operation, established for the distribution of

commercial, retail and domestic products manufactured elsewhere and branded

Tamlite.

Responsible for the design and tooling up for production of all the

fixtures currently produced by the factories. Further responsibilities

include the sourcing of all suppliers ensuring appropriate U.L. listings

are gained and maintained, and the selecting and in-house training of all

staff. Set up small machine shop for equipment maintenance and wrote

maintenance manuals for all factories equipment.

1993 - 1997 Siemens Lighting, River Works, Birmingham, England.

Position - Engineering Design Manager

A World Class company, one of the largest manufacturers of electrical /

electronic products and services in the world, Siemens produces a complete

range of industrial, commercial, retail and domestic lighting products.

Position within the company was that of Senior Design Engineer and Design

office Manager in the U.K. lighting division. Reporting to Design Director,

with the added responsibility for CAD management. Organizational

responsibilities for the department include: organization of mufti-

disciplined engineers to achieve planned product release dates, facilitate

new product development, ensure cost/design parameters are met, and

facilitate communications with other departments involved e.g. marketing,

production etc, to ensure smooth transition from concept to production and

sales. My design duties included the design and development of the standard

product range. Responsible for ensuring products are C.E. approved and to

relevant I.P. rating and that these standards are maintained. All testing

done in house in C.E./ISO approved laboratory. Senior member of IS 9000

team.

1991 - 1993 Surelux Lighting Ltd, Marsh, Huddersfield, England

Position - Design Office Manager

Medium sized company producing mainly commercial and retail lighting

products, utilizing standard fluorescent lamps and a full range of H.I.D.

light sources on architect driven bespoke projects. Position within the

company was that of Design Office Manager with responsibility for all

aspects of product design and service. Also responsible for ensuring

products are C.E. approved and meet relevant I.P. rating, and that these

standards are maintained. Responsible for the introduction and maintenance

of IS9000

1988 - 1991 (Lee) Panavision International Group, Bolton, England.

Position - Senior Design Engineer

Lee Panavision is the worlds premier producer of cameras, lenses and

lighting products and services for the film, television, theatre and public

performance industry. Position within organization is that of Senior Design

Engineer responsible for the design and development of the products in the

lighting division. Also responsible for the design and development of the

products manufactured by a small internal division specializing in display

type lighting for retail outlets. Responsible for ensuring products are

C.E. or other international rating approved and meet relevant I.P. rating,

and that these standards are maintained.

1982 - 1988 Moorlite Electrical / Whitecroft Lighting, Ashton-U-Lyne,

England.

Position - Senior Design Engineer

Moorlite Electrical is part of Whitecroft lighting group. The group designs

and manufactures a complete range of lighting fixtures for all markets.

Moorlite Electrical is responsible for the design and manufacture of

commercial, retail and bespoke products. Position in company is Senior

Design Engineer responsible for the design and development of the standard

product range of both commercial and industrial fluorescent luminaires,

manufactured by Moorlite and other in-house group companies. Also

responsible for the design and development of bespoke design product that

make up 65% to 70% of Moorlite's manufacturing output. Responsible for the

Project management of projects ranging from 20,000 to 1.5 million pounds

sterling from initial conception, through planning and consultation with

architects and engineers, to final manufacture and installation.

1980 - 1982 Parks Cramer (GB/) Platt Saco Lowell/Parks Cramer (USA),

Oldham, England.

Position - Design and Development Engineer

Employed as part of the team responsible for the design and development of

the company's standard products. These include, rotary filter condensers,

automatic bale presses, electrostatic precipitators, negative pressure

cleaners (both on and off frame) for the textile industries. Other duties

included all relevant air-flow calculations and lay-out drawings for

related duct-work systems and some involvement on the air conditioning side

of the company

1976 - 1980 Buckstones Motor Bodies, Shaw, England.

Position - Design Engineer

Responsible for the design and development of commercial vehicle bodies

both dry freight and refrigerated. Responsible for the design and

introduction of semi-automatic machinery to allow all components to be pre-

punched at 2" centers to speed up the lead time for finished vehicle

delivery. Other responsibilities include the purchasing of all components

and the scheduling of orders for manufacture.

Assisted in the foundation of the structure, attended the initial year,

then assisted in the final make-up of a course entitled Design in a

Commercial Environment. This is a non-assessed course for graduate

engineers covering topics including: lateral thinking, materials both

metals & plastics, material coatings, marketing, value engineering & value

analysis, and a design project based on a real life situation. This course

is currently running at Manchester University.
