Image Analysis and Computer Vision I, Image Analysis and Computer Vision II, Digital Image

Processing, Multimedia Systems, Pattern Recognition I, Digital Signal Processing II, Advanced Computer

Communication Networks, Computer Communication Networks II, Digital Communications, Linear

Control Systems.

PROJECTS:

1. Advanced Security Level in ATM system using RFID Card Dec 2011-Feb 2012

• Alternate account number which changes after every transaction using a counter in algorithm, the

frequently changing values are replaced in the card memory after every transaction in the account

• Original account number of the account could be regenerated using the alternate number present

in card memory being processed in the algorithm with the counter value present in RFID card

• In variations between stored data & encrypted colour sensor output, card would be blocked

2. Digital Image Processing Sep-Dec 2013

• To implement the inverse filtering process for recovering the original image from the distorted

image, where the distorted image is a transformation of original image with addition of the noise

component and compares the signal to the noise ratio between the original and recovered image

• To compute the one and two dimensional discrete fourier transform of an 256 256 gray scale

image by implementing the formula and inbuilt function, then determine their computational time

Presentation on detail studied IEEE journal paper “Detailed 3D representations for object

recognition and modelling “ and submitted a summary on the paper

3. Multimedia Systems Sep-Dec 2013

• Multiplexing the input video signal in YIQ form for transmission in the transmitting frequency

and then demultiplexing the YIQ signal on receiver side to recover the output in RGB format

• Determine the displaced frame difference between two consecutive frames in pixel, block, region

& global level and find the motion vectors using optical flow method between consecutive frames

• Implement JPEG compression of the RGB frame using the discrete cosine transformation matrix

and display the compressed the image and determine the compression and signal to noise ratio

• Study on IEEE journal paper “A hybrid algorithm for effective lossless compression of video

display frames” and written a summary on the paper

4. Image Analysis and Computer Vision II Mar-Apr 2013

• Project on face recognition implementing principal component analysis phenomena of Karhunen–

Loeve transform method using a test image with respect to a collection of training images

• Finding the co-ordinates from human skeleton obtained from kinect output and then reading the

vales in MATLAB to find a normalised form which is invariant to scaling and rotation

5. Image Analysis and Computer Vision I Nov 2012

• Processing the different distorted image using techniques like histogram equalization, averaging

filters, removing salt & pepper noise, rotation, translation and scaling image in MATLAB

6. Computer Communication Networks II (Technical paper and seminar) Jan-Apr 2013

• Satellite communication covering major topics of uplink and downlink communication,

transmission bands, satellite orbits, satellite anatomy and cost, trends and applications

• S/MIME (Secure/Multipurpose internet mail extensions) covering RFC 822,sharing key, hashing,

signing and encryption process, algorithms employed and implementing S/MIME

• CDMA techniques, wireless channels, CSMA/CA, Cellular internet access (2G,3G,LTE), IP

routing and mobility in GSM mobile technology

7. Advanced Computer Communication Networks Sep-Dec 2013

• Implemented the working of Dynamic host configuration protocol by connecting to different

computer in a network and Network address translation for data packets using packet tracer

• Socket programming on ICMP trace route using Python to determine the number of hops between

the source node and destination address and the round trip time between each nodes

• Review on IEEE papers “An energy-efficient MAC protocol for wireless sensor networks”,

“ATP: a reliable transport protocol for Ad Hoc networks” and “An analysis of the Skype peer-to-

peer internet telephony protocol”

INDUSTRIAL EXPOSURE:

1. Thermal Power Plant in Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) Nov-Dec 2009

• Case study of the power plant

• Instrumentation and control systems employed to measure and control the pressure, temperature,

level and flow of parameters in the plant

• Type of turbines and reheaters employed to produce maximum power. The cooling system and

cooling tower phenomena employed to reuse the steam efficiently

2. Computer Hardware and Networking in Invictus Solutions Jun-Jul 2010

• Trained to assemble and repair the basic hardware problems in the desktop computers

• A broad outline was given about the networking of systems in the Local Area Network (LAN)

and Wide Area Network (WAN)
