OBJECTIVE:

To secure a position in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry with the

opportunity to participate and work within a team environment.

SUMMARY:

Three and a half years ago I was presented an opportunity to co-open a

business. I have since decided to step down from my duties at my current

company and return to the pharmaceutical industry.

12/09 - Present Tommy's Auto Detailing

Uxbridge, MA

. Started family business in the auto detailing industry.

. Built up a client base

. Responsible for day-to-day operations

. Cultivated new relationships

. Involved with advertisement decisions

09/06 -11/09 Pfizer Inc. PGRD

Groton, CT

Research Chemist

. Responsible for conducting experimentation to define the final drug

substance form (salt / polymorph / hydrate) for active pharmaceutical

ingredients (API) in early development.

. Performed crystallization and solid state characterization (x-ray powder

diffraction, polarized light microscopy, differential scanning

calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis and NMR.

. Participate on multidisciplinary project teams and collaborates with

colleagues to define and implement crystallization, polymorph, and salt

screening activities according to project timelines.

. Synthesized salt and co-crystal forms of drug candidates (including

hydrates, solvates and polymorphs).

. Conducted solid state physical and chemical characterization of small

molecules of pharmaceutical relevance. This included particle

characterization (e.g., particle size, shape) and solid state

characterization (e.g., spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, thermal

analysis).

. Provided Materials Science support for colleagues in other

Pharmaceutical Sciences lines.

03/02-07/05 Avecia Biotechnology, Inc.

Milford, MA

Laboratory Supervisor

. Performed solid phase synthesis of varying molecular weight

oligonucleotides on a large skid for clients to use as DNA medicines

within a clean room under cGMP conditions up to 100 mmole scale.

. On a different synthesizer performed 10-30 mmole scale synthesis of

oligonucleotides under GMP or GLP conditions determined by clients

needs.

. Use of this synthesizer required writing computer code to achieve

desired synthetic results. Writing of the code allowed flexibility for

process development and scale up to the 100 mmole synthesizer.

. Co-wrote a user manual for the 10-30 mmole instrument and wrote all

batch records, solution prep. Records, SOP's, and maintenance

schedules for this synthesizer.

. Wrote batch records, wrote and revised solution records, SOP's, and

maintenance schedule as needed.

. Trained several of my team members how to run both of these

synthesizers.

. Also made many engineering improvements to the 10-30 mole synthesizer.

Performed maintenance when needed.

. Updated laboratory practices to comply with GLP, GMP, safety. Was the

final reviewer of all batch records prior to transfer to QA. Analyzed

QC data from each synthesis.

. Gave tours to clients and answered any questions they had while

visiting the company.

. Some experience with ultra filtration ion exchange chromatography and

lyophilisation.

08/99-03/02 Pharm-Eco Laboratories, Inc.

Devens, MA Senior

Chemist

. Process research and development experience towards synthesis and

production of API's for several projects. Synthesis for different

cancers, HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis, ophthalmic related, and various others

API's on mg, gram, kilo gram, and pilot plant scales

. Performing synthesis, process development and scale up from gram scale

to pilot plant production according to the needs of each client.

. Worked in medicinal chemistry lab.

. Worked in process development labs developing process from gram scale

to the pilot plant's 200 gallons reactors for safe and routine

synthesis.

. Worked on many projects independently and as a team member.

MILITARY EXPERIENCE:

10/92-1098 - Massachusetts Army National Guard

HHC Company, 1-181Battalion - 29th Infantry Division, Light

Member of the company reconnaissance platoon for 6 years. I learned how to

work as part of a team while developing my organizational and leadership

skills.

I was awarded numerous "Army Achievement Medals" for assuming leadership

responsibilities above my rank. The guard not only taught me a variety of

life lessons, but helped put me through college.

EDUCATION:

07/99 Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Worcester, Ma.

Master of Science, Organic Chemistry

05/97 Fitchburg State College

Fitchburg, Ma.

Bachelor of Science, Chemistry

SKILLS:

Solid phase organic synthesis - organic photochemical reactions - large

scale column chromatography - modern multi-step synthesis - Asymmetric

synthesis - modern analytical analysis (FT-IR, Uv-Vis, NMR, MALDI-TOF,

GC/MS, HPLC/MS, GC, HPLC, Fluorescence, Phosphorescence) - Medicinal

chemistry - process development - gram scale synthesis - Kilo-scale

synthesis - (GMP, non-GMP) pilot plant synthesis (up to 200 gallon

reactors) - Various distillations including large scale rototherm

distillation.
