• Explored process, quality, and tool engineering. Worked alongside full-time, co-op, and intern engineers.
• Assisted with developing, managing, and optimizing processes in composite part production in order to meet
requirements.
• Updated instruction files and blueprints used in fabricating parts and tools.
• Spent time on manufacturing f loor, to gain experience with production of parts from layup through paint and
shipping.
• Collaborated with employees on production f loor to compare processes to instructions.
• Followed numerous parts on small assembly, including parts for Sikorsky and Black Hawk helicopters.
• Studied product f low in manufacturing, lean manufacturing and its effect on processes, and steps of production
t hrough layup.
• Contributed to project involving ducts not laid up regularly; these had been created through casting process but
goal was to determine whether they could work with aqua pour to increase safety and save energy. Investigated
t ypes of molds that would be required to work with aqua pour.
• Teamed up with co-op engineer to test new type of Epocast that was stronger and harder, reduced time of
casting process, and increased strength and safety of doors.
