Attention: Human Resources Toronto Roadshows – Durham Region
I am responding with interest to the position advertised as a Customer Service
Representative with Toronto Roadshows located in the Durham Region. I will be relocating
to Oshawa in September and I am interested in discussing potential career opportunities.
Previously I held the position of Community Engagement Coordinator with the Canadian
Diabetes Association. This position required me to meet both short and long term goals set out by
the Association while working to advocate for Diabetes awareness, adequate care and effective
health management for those affected by Diabetes. In this role I worked collaboratively with
coworkers and volunteers to ensure the effective delivery of the Associations’ mission statement
and goals. In order to deliver and promote the goals and mission statement of the Association I
maintained productive relationships with community partners and health care providers. My
passion for community health and wellness in addition to my verbal and written communication
skills were essential to my success in this role.
As an established fund developer and grant writer I posses management and program
development skills essential to the success of a non-profit organization. Through collaboration
and research I was able to secure the funds necessary to run and implement new programs for
both the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thunder Bay. Program
development, multi-departmental collaboration and budget preparation are skill sets which I
posses and use on a daily basis.
As an active member of the Thunder Bay Community I have volunteered with several
nonprofit organizations that promote lifelong healthy development of families and individuals.
These opportunities have exposed me to both community needs and the resources available to
service these needs. My volunteer and professional work experience combined with my post
secondary education majoring in Political Science Pre Law with a specialization in Aboriginal
studies suggest I am an excellent candidate for this position. I have attached my resume for your
perusal and should you require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your consideration,
