Director, Project Management/SW Engineering, Fidelity Investments Jan 2012 to June 2014

Lead a team of project managers focused on large client implementations in Defined Benefit (DB) business. My

leadership resulted in a highly productive self-managing team. As a result of my leadership the employee engagement

results gained 35+ points increase over prior year in the key area of manager effectiveness.

• Responsible for day to day supervision and performance management of project management team, monitoring

& prioritization of team workload, removing impediments and delivering results.

• As an agile coach, I transformed the software delivery from Waterfall to Agile. Pension software consists of 7

modules. Traditionally each module is vertically built and integrated after several months. I engineered an

incremental development delivery model using end user transactions horizontally. Coached the requirement,

development and test teams to define and build software using the transaction model with 2 week sprints.

Quality of the software exponentially increased with tight integration across all modules. Throughput during the

integrated tests increased from certification of 5 – 10 test cases per week to 5 – 10 test cases per day.

• As a software delivery manager, worked with a matrix team of engineers and analysts and engineered the

business rules templates to generate production deployable code for pension algorithms.

Manager, SW Engineering, Sensus USA Inc Apr 2009 to Jan 2012

Lead an engineering team focused on Advanced metering Infrastructure (AMI) solutions for utilities. I cultivated a culture

of self-managing teams and empowerment to deliver timely and high quality solutions. I managed the departmental

budget, capacity planning, resource budgeting and projections. Achievements include:

• I built the software engineering team with skillsets of Java, SOAP/XML, C#, C++ & database. The team delivered

product releases for the distributed AMI applications for 300+ production utility customers and new prospects.

• I lead the streamlining of continuous integration and deployment process. As a product owner built the product

backlog grooming through customer issues and prioritized using Value-Risk Model creating a product release

roadmap with a cadence of major versions at twice and minor versions at 4 times a year.

• Program managed the Security Program to enable AES encryption in the utility meters for encrypted

communication. Scope included AMI application, hand held tools, Meter HW/FW & Radio board manufacturing.

• Project managed MultiSpeak web services implementation with SOAP/XML for customer billing and Outage

Management System (OMS) applications, Load profile/interval data collection for C&I meters.

Sr. Project Manager, Fidelity Investments Jan 2003 to Feb 2009

Lead a team of systems analysts & project managers with day-to-day supervision and workload assignment including

performance management and HR responsibilities. Achievements include:

• As a program manager/scrum master achieved annual savings of $2.3 million with ROI of 2.5 years in “Straight

through processing (STP)”. STP was to eliminate & automate the manual retroactive pay calculations. A team of

60+ payroll operations specialists was dedicated to service one customer. The complexity of the project was to

build IRS tax compliant solutions within the constraints of copy right protected Oracle Payroll core engine.

• As a PM achieved a savings of $567K annually with ROI of 2 years in operations for a 6 sigma initiative to

automate the Off-cycle payroll checks. Work items (WI) throughput improved from 4.82 WI/hr to 17.08 WI/hr.

• Project managed a $15 million countrywide conversion project for Bank of America in Oracle HRMS & Payroll.

• Architected & engineered a high performing scalable infrastructure to multithread payroll computation for multiple

clients.
