PROJECTS (Complete list of projects can be provided by request):

Spinal cord computer interface based on signals extracted from descending tracts (NIH Grant) Spring

2012

• Designed and manufactured electrodes with 32 channels to be implanted into spinal cord of rats to record electrical signals from different

depths.

• Made impedance adjustments and coating on the electrodes to be able to acquire more accurate measurements.

Eye movement controlled automatic wheelchair Spring

2010

• A wheelchair which has 3 stepper motors and moves to the direction of the patients eyes was built.

• Eye movements were detected by a video camera places on an eyeglasses-like structure which is light weighted and can easily be worn and

controlled by the patient.

• Real-time image processing codes were written in Matlab, and RF communication is constructed between the wheelchair and computer.

Robotic arm, controlled by real time laser tracking algorithm Winter
