Job Description
- Receive, admit and endorse patients.
- Identify needs, plans care and gives direct nursing care to patients.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the course of action rendered.
- Monitor and record vital signs.
- Carry out doctor’s order in accordance to the hospital policy and legal limitations.
- Initiate plan of care by giving direct nursing care to patients with established nursing techniques and
procedures.
- Administer of medications as ordered.
- Obtain laboratory samples send and secure laboratory work up and attach these to patients as well.
- Act as a liaison between patient and hospital personnel.
- Prepare patient and assist physician with diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Coordinate with physician with regard to patient condition, diagnostic result for easier recovery of the
patient and for better treatment plan.
- Relay any progress or untoward reaction or manifestation of patient condition to the physician.
- Administer and record medications and patient reaction to medication.
- Administer blood transfusions as after proper typing and cross matching as ordered.
- Administer total parenteral nutrition.
- Discharge patient and give appropriate health teaching to the parents.
- Give health teachings to the patient’s significant others.
- Observe and respond to patient’s emotional and spiritual needs.
- Interpret to the patient’s family their roles in promoting successful therapy and rehabilitation.
