. Cutting paraffin embedded surgical, forensic, zoological, and research

tissue in a high volume lab.

. On a rotating basis do the daily QC which includes water bath temps,

embedder cleanliness, making eosin from powder.

. Cut special stains and deeper sections after initial H&E.

Duties:

Accession specimens in LIS, and logbook prior to LIS.

. Grossed needle biopsies, shave and punch skin biopsies and body

fluids.

. Embed, and cut paraffin embedded, frozen tissue and cell blocks.

. Stain, label (printed labels with LIS) and cover slip slides.

. Processed non-gyn cytology spins, smears, and cellblocks when needed.

. Assist with hospital autopsies.

* Special stains and IHC manually using pre-diluted anti bodies

and using the Ventana Ultra immune stainer.

. Maintain VIP V tissue processor, Leica auto stainer and cryostat.

Include in the maintenance was the recycling of graded alcohols and

Formula 83 clearing agent.

. Send out cases for second opinion and or special stains and tests not
