Major Projects: Specific Responsibilities and Achievements

FRAUD Detection project is a Data Warehousing application where online

transactions are being fed into the data warehouse environment from the

legacy OLTP Main Frame systems in real time using MQ Series. The online

transaction data is merged with the static data and the transformed data is

fed to the fraud detection front end NORKOM application. There are two

databases one is 7 days database and 13 months database, in the 7 days

database the ABM/Bank transactions are loaded where the context generation

stored procedures are run to generate the scoring of the transaction for

fraud detection. The 13 months database is used for data mart.

. This database is on servers using IBM UDB EEE V8.1 and size of the

database is 3TB

. Designed to process 2.5 million transactions per day.

. Off-site disaster recovery for the database was designed and

implemented.

. MIND Data Mart is the Management Information System, which captures

the data from different sources and then through the ETL process to

populate in the Data Warehouse. Using the OLAP tool Micro Strategy

reporting is done.

. Database size is approaching about 3.5 TB and it is running on P690

servers with 12 database partitions using IBM UDB EEE V7.2 database.

. Moved MIND database disk from SSA to IBM ESS (SHARK) technology.

. Designed the MINDOPF database (Offline Processing Facility) to process

monthly offline data and then transfer the data from OPF database to

production database. This initiative reduced Production downtime from

4 days to 1 day.

. Developed automated scripts for redirected restore of database to

clone databases for Development, Quality-Assurance and Performance

environments.

. Took the initiative to run monthly benchmark in MIND database for SQL

performance monitoring of 80 Micro Stratgy reports.

. Identified long-running reports using performance benchmarks and

optimized them using tools such as db2advis, dynexpl and db2expl.
