B.Braun Medical Inc. (Lean Manufacturing Intern)

June 2014-Present

Optimizing the value stream by developing a process map for the material flow of resin and related components for identifying the Non-value added activities

through this process map.

Also responsible for developing optimum inventory levels and optimum material flows and create standard work by eliminating all manual spreadsheets.

Johnson & Johnson Ltd. (Lean Manufacturing Intern)

June-August 2013

Worked on Wastage Reduction on San-Pro manufacturing lines and reconciliation of Finished v/s Semi-finished goods.

Saved 1.1 Million rupees ($20,000 US) per annum on raw materials usage based on Cost Analysis through implementation of Process Mapping, Root Cause

Analysis and Lean Manufacturing techniques where I successfully reduced the Splice Delay time for Barrier and Cover on the automated machine.

Implemented Kaizen and Pokayoke principles for improvements in wastage reduction in the department.

Lutron Electronics Ltd. (Supply Chain & Logistics Intern)

February-May 2013

Worked on a Supply Chain & Logistics Management Project to create a master-plan for consolidating two warehouse facilities into one.

Helped Lutron save $800,000 per annum on warehouse rent and logistics by building a Warehouse Space Demand vs Storage Capacity model in Excel by

analyzing the total inventory based on key metrics.

Calculated and analyzed kep supply chain metrics like Days of Supply (DOS), Service Level and Safety stock, while also being responsible for demand

forecasting and demand analysis.

Performed in depth analysis of the volume of shipments, both incoming and outgoing, as we believed that modifying shipment frequency had a huge role to

play in storage space available in the warehouse.

Also developed and designed an AUTOCAD facility layout to establish general storage scenarios, for the parts.

Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. (Process Improvement Engineer Intern)

2011-2012

Worked on a Continuous Process Improvement project in the Security Solutions Division under the Safety Deposit Lockers and Cabinets department.

Saved 500,000 Rupees ($8,300 US) per annum and increased workstation efficiency by 40% through the capability analysis of the manual box assembly

process and implementation of five new gauges, redesigned by me.

Supervised the daily inventory and the manufacturing assembly line, along with the implementation of Kaizen, 5s and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

IE 465: Applied Data Mining, Lehigh University, PA

Developing a model to predict which customers would purchase a mobile home insurance policy based on socio-demographic and product ownership data.

Performed Cluster Analysis and applied Association rules to cut down the number of variables (86), and also develop new variables based on correlations.

Model was built using key modeling techniques like Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Regression Analysis and Ensemble models.

IE 410 Design of Experiments, Lehigh University, PA

Performed a set of experiments to determine the increase in scrap level in a certain manufacturing experiment. Concluded that scrap level depended on the

machine used and the interaction between the pipe diameter and the type of material used.

The conclusion was obtained by analyzing the data and then using Normal Plots, Residual Plots and Interaction Plots.

GBUS 450: Strategic Supply Management, Lehigh University, PA

Performed a detailed analysis of a raw material required in manufacturing a certain product with respect to feasibility of growth, cost of shipping, etc. to

determine if it is beneficial to grow the product locally or import it from other countries.

Performed elaborate market analysis to determine if outsourcing a certain manufacturing plant would be beneficial to the company.

SKILL SET: Manufacturing, Data Mining, Supply Chain Management, Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), CNC

Programming, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ProEngineering, FMEA, Logistics, Warehousing, Lean Manufacturing, Tool Design, Theory of Constraints, Basic
