OBJECTIVE:
To work as a committed and dedicated Telecommunication Engineer where I can utilize and ameliorate my engineering
skills to achieve organizational goals to strengthen and optimize wired and wireless communication networks.
EDUCATION :
Masters in Science in Telecommunication May 2014
University of Maryland, College Park, MD
Bachelor in Science in Electronics and Instrumentation May 2012
SRM University, Chennai, India
SKILLS :
Wireless Skills : RF Theory, 3G/4G, GSM, CDMA, EVDO, HSDPA, OFDM, optical OFDM, LTE, 802.11 family,
RF Theory, Antenna and Cell Site Concepts
Network and Protocols : TCP/IP,UDP, Distributed Bellman-Ford, Dijkstra, RIP, EIGRP, IGRP, OSPF, RPR, OTN, SONET
Telecom Tools and Software : Mentum Planet, Juno, OPNET Modeller, Xirrus, WiSpy DBX, Wireshark
Programming Skills : LabVIEW, JAVA, C, MATLAB
Microsoft Office Tools : Excel (With Risk Solver Platform), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Management Expertise : Proficient in decision Making, Economics, Organizational Behavior,Marketing
PROJECTS :
WiFi Spectrum and Interference Analysis, Project Member September – December 2012
Collected and analyzed the WiFi signal network of the university and home routers and surveyed the interference from
Bluetooth, wireless devices, microwave on the WLAN through heat maps using WiSpy DBx dongle and Visiwave
Mapped the interference pattern on the signal, identifying the type and nature of interference
Succeeded in exporting the Wi-Fi and GPS data to KML file to view in Google Earth
Triumphantly analyzed the Wi-Fi spectrum by site surveying at various places in the university for higher dBm, SSID,
channels and observed frequency hopping of Wi-Fi signals using the Xirrus Analysis software
Cell Site Deployment, Project Member October-December 2012
Designed and model tuned cellular towers to deploy GSM wireless network for areas in and around Washington
downtown on Mentum Planet
Deployed 23 3-sectored sites to extemporized cellular coverage by varying the antenna height, azimuth
Optimized the antenna installment according to the area by using more antennas in the downtown to have more
coverage to minimum antennas in the rural areas, ensuring minimum coverage of -90dBm
Acquired the knowledge about cellular hand-offs, interference on the ProScout Software through a drive test.
JAVA Program for a distributed networking application, Individual Project October-November 2012
Developed a Java a UDP socket Program for a reliable data transfer between the transmitter and receiver
Data packet, as large as 30 bytes including the overhead, was sent from transmitter to receiver and acknowledgment
of 8 bytes was sent by the receiver to transmitter
Comparison of MANET Routing Protocols, Group Project January-May 2013
Effectively compared the OLSR and AODV routing protocols of MANET using OPNET Modeller
Closely observed that outputs like delay, throughput, overhead varied differently for both the protocols, by changing
the parameters like the number of nodes, mobility speed, hello interval using ftp traffic
Determined that AODV gives more delay than OLSR, while in terms overhead, results were opposite
