Duties, Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist; Greet customers in a friendly, welcoming manor, Listen and find out what their required needs are, Gather all pertinent information from the customer as needed, Answer phones and general questions, Take refill requests and refill oks as well as E-scripts, Communicate with Dr. offices and Insurance companies when necessary, Follow through with customers' special requests, Vacation over-rides, etc... Input all new RX's into computer system, Ensure proper on-line insurance billing, Physically filling/refilling of RX's, Mixing and simple compounding of liquids and creams, Anticipating the Pharmacist's needs and keeping documents orderly for Pharmacist's check, Proper and sequential filing of RX hard-copies, Working as a supportive and efficient team member with co-workers, Provide customer service at the cash register and cash/check handling, charges, etc Ordering and returning of medications via suppliers, Stocking and rotation of prescription medications, OTC merchandise and special orders, Maintaining accurate inventory accounting, both physically and computer tracked, Proper quarterly logging and return of any expired drugs as well as patient drop-off programs (for disposal), Checking in and stocking prescriptions sent by a central fill pharmacy, General cleaning and disinfecting of pharmacy area and equipment, Maintaining necessary supplies, toner, paper, etc... I have more than 13 years of experience in dealing with the general public, Insurance billing issues, as well as with special needs clients such as patients of Jefferson County Mental Health and the elderly. I have worked with various computer software systems, PDX, Condor, etc... I am a self-starter, a fast learner, and adapt quickly. I am well versed in Pharmacy Law.
