Research Experience:
• Broad knowledge and experience in executing the multi-step fabrication of plasmonic nanomaterials
through laser ablation using ultrafast laser pulses.
• Extraction of nonlinear optical properties of plasmonic nanocolloids and organic molecules by an
experimental technique “Z-Scan”.
• Experise in setting up time resolved studies such as degenerate four wavemixing (DFWM) and
pump-probe experiments to investigate excited state dynamics.
• Experience in the upgradation of DFWM experiment to coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering
experiment to enhance the signal to noise ratio. In this experiment we generated white light
continuum (WLC) in of the three paths.
Research Landmarks:
• Investigation of polarity effect of thesolvent on the products of Al nanoparticles sizes in solvents
such as chloroform and carbon tetrachloride (Chemical physics letters, 2012)
• Effect of doule line ablation fabrication effective Ag nanoparticles for NLO applications and
effective SERS active substartes for explosive molecule detection ( J. Applied Physics, 2013)
• Effect of angle of laser incidence on the target surface immersed in double distillledwater to
fabricate Ag nanoparticles for NLO applications and Ad substrates for trace level explosive detection
(ANTA). Investigation of favourable angle of laser incidence for fabrication of nanomaterials using
laser ablation in liquids. (Appl. Surf. Sci, 2014).
• A review was written to explain extensive investigation of laser ablation and the applications of
nanomaterials such as surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), Nonlinear optical
instrumentation, and anti-bacterial agents. (J. Nanosci. Nanotech, 2014)
Instrumental Skills:
Instruments Handled:
• A chirped pulse amplified (CPA) Ti: Sapphire laser system (LEGEND, Coherent) delivering nearly
transform limited laser pulses (~2 ps/40 fs, 1 kHz repetition rate) at 800 nm. The amplifier was
seeded with ~15 fs (55 nm FWHM ) pulses from an oscillator (MICRA, Coherent, 1 W, 80 MHz, 800
nm central wavelength).
• Signal recovery 7265 lock-in –amplifier was utilized to record auto-correlation traces and DFWM
traces and to record nonlinear absorption and refraction processes.
• Perkin Elmer UV-Vis absorption spectrometer was utilized extensively for characterizing the
prepared plasmonic nanomatyertilas.

• All other opticl components like mirros, beam splitters, motorized stages (interfaced with
LabVIEW), lenses, retardors, were utilized in our laboratory.
