Recent Accomplishments
Lecturer in Business
. Non-tenure track position with the responsibility of disseminating
course objectives and overseeing class activities related
entrepreneurship. Curriculum for this class introduces students to the
entrepreneurial mindset and the challenges of starting and running a
successful business. Students are exposed to the core topics of;
entrepreneurship, product development, the venture capital process,
ethics, diversity, and communication.
Business Consultant
. Self-employed consultant providing education, training and mentoring
to prepare challenged populations to achieve self-sufficiency and
exercise social responsibility through small business startups.
Referrals are submitted through the Opportunities for Ohioans with
Disabilities Agency and from various other agencies such as Bureau of
Works Compensation, Department of Developmental Disabilities, and Job
and Family Services. Responsibilities include assessment of the
individual and the individual's business idea, creation of formal
business plan, market research, business financial training and
education, entrepreneurial mentoring, business operation evaluation,
record and book keeping, auditing, and report writing.
Director of Economic Development
. Through a one year operating grant obtained from the United States
Department of Agriculture, Ohio Northern University established the
community Economic Development Center in order to bring forth
resources that encourage small business growth and job creation. To
achieve this goal, the center utilized up and coming student business
leaders to train, educate, and mentor prospective entrepreneurs and
small business owners in and around Central North-West Ohio.
