Distribution Center Manager

Ran a 200,000 square feet refrigerated distribution center; Responsible for over 100

million dollars worth of meat inventory.

-Responsible for 60 warehouse employees (AFL-CIO), 3 supervisors (3 shifts 24/7

operation), 5 clerks, 2 Quality Assurance employees, and inventory manager.

-Maintained all profit and loss statements, and all budgeting for the year.

-Redesigned a new warehouse schedule that cut back from 7-day workweek to a 5-day

workweek. The savings in overtime hours was greater than 60% reduction.

-Implementing new WMS system (Red Prairie). I was 1 of 3 Project managers in charge in

integrating the new WMS system throughout the entire company. (One-year project)

-Standardize all operational efficiencies throughout the distribution center with time

studies.

-Successfully reduced cost 3 years in operational budget.

-Maintained all building, preventive, and fleet maintenance.

-Developed a safety program that reduced accidents and injury. Currently the distribution

center is over 2 years accident/ injury free.

-Negotiated labor contracts with union leaders and corporate human resources.

-Effectively managed a 100 Truck Fleet over 3 locations: Hudson, OH, Opelika, AL, and

Visalia, CA, totaling over $22 million in revenue annually.

-Solely responsible for all financial, safety, maintenance, DOT compliance and all

customer generated reporting and knowledge.

-Visalia, CA account awarded with Western Region Account of the Year for 2007.

-Successfully implemented EDI into our backhaul acceptance procedures to cut down on

man-hours.

-Developed and maintained and above company average Safety Program involving

incentive based rewards and was able to get total driver participation through effective

communications the region.

-Saw the promotion of 6 of my employees over a 2-year span.

-Developed a fuel conservation initiative to cut down on idle time and increase awareness

amongst drivers and managers, which is currently in use at all Central Region Accounts.
